Thanks to having been introduced to Grim Hollow Stitchery, here in Red Lion, I've embraced the designs of someone new for me. Lavender Wings, out of Michigan. Check out her stuff at
I am stitching "All Hallow's Eve" right now, the doorknob pillow, and it's absolutely charming. Found some neat Halloween fat quarters at our local Ben Franklin Crafts to finish it, andwill probably do the towels for next year as a gift for a dear friend of mine.
Also, I decided to take the time to try gridding the piece, something I've never done before. I truly have made up my mind that on a serious piece, I will never do it again without gridding. I have had NO MISTAKES due to being one thread off! The time takent to do the gridding is more than made up for since I've not had to frog anything!!
So, this year, that's three practices I'm pleased to have adopted: Loop starts on XS that only needs two threads; railroading; and now, gridding! The back of my piece is so tidy now!!
Brightest blessings, and happy stitching, Pat
