Yesterday I was dropping DD off at a friend's house and we had some extra time to kill first. It was really quite simple to talk her into a quick stop at In Stitches in Alexandria. She had mentioned maybe learning to crochet and I knew they had yarn.
But the yarn didn't call to her and I found her wandering the racks of cross stitch patterns. And after deciding that nearly everything she liked was going to be too difficult for a beginner and that the simpler projects were, well, too simple for her tastes, we settled on M Designs "Dream." We immediately changed the colors and found a shade of greens-to-blue Silk N Colours and new beads. When she comes home today, we'll go through my fabric stash.
I'm excited that she's excited. At 19, this may be how it begins.
