Since we've had the complaint that we're discussing everything BUT needlework, what *is* everyone doing as we approach the gift-giving holidays?I (sigh) don't remember the last time I picked up my XS. I was working on Sesame Street on Halloween between doorbell-ringers, and I think that was the last time.I really do need the stress relief -- over the weekend, the neighbor's cat got on my roof AGAIN, and it was a non-stop two-day battle because I didn't want her up on my roof (she was standing there drinking a huge glass of wine trying to tell me she could do it safely -- yeah, right), and she didn't want to pay someone with more experience at roof-walking.She even sent Animal Control over to threaten me with animal abuse! Apparently neglected to mention that I had told her the day before exactly how it was acceptable to me to have the cat retrieved ... she only said that I refused to let her on my roof.He certainly understood why I didn't want to risk being sued if she fell off, and finally got it across to her that my conditions for who I'd allow on my roof were absolutely reasonable, so if the cat was starving, she was the one who would be held responsible for the abuse (not me), since she was the one who didn't want to cooperate with the reasonable request that someone who knew what they were doing should be hired to go up there.I did do a few minutes knitting while I was supervising the guy she finally hired to go on the roof, but that wasn't enough to alleviate 48 hours of stress. (FYI, a day later the cat still isn't down, but he put food and water up there trying to lure the cat out of her hidey hole.) Unfortunately, once I got her to stop the non-stop banging on the door and house trying to bully me into letting her on the roof, I had to go right back to work because her constant noise had made it impossible for me to accomplish anything for two days, at a time when I was already swamped.I need to get a record amount of work out today, to have any hope of...
