New Thread: The New Project You're Lusting after

Very nice. When Donna and I were at the Scarlet Thread - I was tempted to some of the Martina Weber charts, and one of the Long Dog Samplers. But, instead - I just had to have the Drawn Thread Love & Wisdom, which I bought. I was, however really torn between some of the Mandala gardens (Alpine, Knotgarden, TajMahal), and just let it go. The Long Dog Samplers that I've got in the back of my mind are:

abd as you guys may remember - I've been lusting after A marriage of TwoMinds, but I think that will wait until I get through the next couple ofprojects. I don't know why this really draws me in.

I do want the "Calico Dog and Gingham Cat" from Carriage HouseSamplings that Donna was kitting up - but, that, too will wait. Tee hee. OK - I'm supposed to go clean the kitchen so I can cook for the poor, tired DH and myself.

I have a pot of soup simmering. Santa just dumped a sleighload of work on me, so that was something I didn't have to spend a lot of time attending to.

Just about anything by Indigo Rose or Drawn Thread. There are also some really nice Earth Threads ones (Betsy Stinner) that are quite intricate, but not so large. I have the Indigo Rose "Acorn" one in the recent stash - it's in the queue for after I do the new Drawn Thread Love and Wisdom. I like that it doesn't have any sayings on it.

Of course, you could go for the Summer Garden from Victoria's Sampler, then moan with Joan & I over the less than great directions. It's got some lovely stitches, and isn't very large.

fun - what a good question to get us all looking at things to lustafter.

Hey, I remember seeing that as an almost done WIP - it's gorgeous - and the work isn't half bad either ;^)

LOL - Almost exactly what I wrote - but despite the time difference - I hadn't read your response. How funny.

So, hmmm - did you know that Ellice (of course mine is a weird spelling) is French for Elizabeth....ooooohhh spooky .

I think that the designers have similar, although distinct, styles. Both also have very good charts.

Have fun with the dilemma.

LOL - I'm sure that you're the one who pointed it out to me. And then I think we did a framing job for it - though I don't think they'd done it all in silk. Which of course - you know I'll have to do. But - I won't give in until I finish the Drawn Thread True Love sampler, and this Love and Wisdom one - which I'm working on first. Then, I figure once the Acorn gets started, er, I could pick up the Marriage of TM. Though, I'll likely have to get the chart sooner. Hmmmm - once I get all my other stuff unpacked, I believe I have an Earth Threads "forest sampler" all kitted up - with some lovely silk. Yaeh - that'll have to get in there somehow. And then the pumpkins will start - and then the sweet potato vine - but those two are easy - all XS, one on 32, the other on 36 (the sweet potato vine), and then, and then.....no more shopping. Yup - uh huh.

Oh, here's the Earth Threads one:

was that about the Stitchin' Post after Christmas sale? I'll have tofind out who has the Marriage of Two Minds sampler so I can get it on sale.I know Cindy will have her inventory sale as usual sometime in January - butwhile she has a lot of Indigo Rose in the store - not so much Drawn Thread. Oh, er, I forgot - I'm also very fond of Hillside Samplings. Not all her designs, but many. They tend to look really nice done - not so clear in the pix. But, I won a first at Morven Park (Sampler Guild show) with the "A Stitch in Pine" . I think I've been thinking of doing "Grape Expectations" it has a lot of nice stitches, and would go well in the butler pantry by the bar - tee hee. What did I just say?

- I did it all in a couple ofshades of weeks.

Just funny that we have such similar taste. I guess we're timesharing ;^)

And now for something completely different -I'm actually going to stitch. DH is so tired after his 3 days of meetings - having him with only a few hours sleep each night - that he just went for a nap - and, well, clearly dinner is going to be skipped - so I'm dragging the now hated Summer Garden, my basket of thread, and little frame on down to the rec room - with good light - and going to stitch! Yeah.

So, maybe, just maybe I'll finish this thing. And then I can start on the Love and Wisdom sampler.

Later all - ellice

So many lustings, so little time. I have finished the front of my sweet bag, and now working on my initial for the back, then I will re-read the assembly instructions in the hope that they make more sense on the sixth reading (previous 5 readings made no sense). Then I have 2 x CA Wells projects to get cracking on before she arrives for a couple of classes in April.

The lust list of things I don't yet have includes just about everything from

To use a cliché, that should be the worst thing I have to deal with. I'm kind of leaning toward Tocatta 2. It's not really a band sampler but it has around 39 stitches all cramped into a 10 x 10 piece. I think it would be fun to play with.
