New Thread: The New Project You're Lusting after

I did 'Generosity' for a friend who spins and weaves. (She is also one of the two friends who introduced me to cross stitch). She and I trade projects - when she wants something stitch she weaves something for me.

MargW who picked up the next round robin Christmas tree project today, but at least doesn't have to have it done until the third week of January.

I used to like the Wyndham Needlework bags of random threads - picked up lots of wonderful silks that way. Haven't seen that special on their website for quite a while now.

Needlepoint seats for the dining chairs. :-) And lo and behold I think I found what will work.

5 of the 6 designs (top six on the page) I want to do are in herbooks, and they were on sale at Chapters. I won't feel too guilty ifit takes me a while to get around to them.Tara

Tell your OCD you have a second hobby; collecting patterns. :-)

Also - lately if you check the Kreinik website - they're having sales all the time (which is not making the LNS owners so happy, but).

I also have been picking up some alternatives to Kreinik - using the Petite & Regular Treasure Braid from Rainbow Gallery a bunch.

Having checked the handy-dandy hockey schedule - I believe it will. We were hoping to have the housewarming - New Year's party that weekend, however - the builder has again postponed the floor replacement, etc til next week, and if not then - well - after the New Year, so... To quote Mr. Humphries "I'm Free" - in that lovely trilling voice.

Donna is I think not yet back from NH - but will check with her. I think we figured to meet you guys together. And, Caryn - what's your deal? Also - possibly Erika will have recovered from Nutcracker seasonal madness.

We can plan a little off the list - times, where, lunch ;^)

Any other DC area types? We can have our own RCTN frenzy fighting at the Stitching Post "my chart, no mine - okay I'll trade you hand dye Xx for a piece of YY" Yup. I can see it now. All that built up holiday seasonal lust for bargain S.E.X.

Man - I've got to do something - my brain is frazzled as we have to submit our insurance choices today - DH is at work. And figuring my way through the maze of confused comparisons for Federal Empl open season - finally - Dental and Vision insurance is making me nuts. Plus, our very excellent dentist and his partner have decided not to participate in any plans. Great

- so that narrows it to one that is still a PPO, but will cover a non-participating provider - just more out of pocket. And I guess I'll be changing oral surgeons - as it is clear to us that I'm going to have to have yet another bout of surgery in the area under my 30 year old re-done root canals (yup - all 3 front lower teeth broken in a freak baton twirling accident at age 7 1/2) - which have 3 times developed some problem in the underlying jaw bone & gums. OK - enough on that gruesome subject.

Back to avoiding real decisions, and catching up on the mail,

My condolences. I go through that every August, and it's really frazzling playing the "what if?" game to evaluate different options! I think it's probably one of the most stressful periods of the year.

(This year the plan we'd had went up 50%, so I had to play with a lot more options than usual, because we definitely had to change. Doing nothing is usually an option, but not this year!)

Er, ummm - they were visiting in-laws, and looked to be very busy no time for much kind of days. IIRC they were going up leaving DC very early Friday morning, and I think coming back today.

I just could have used the excuse to do something other than drive to the rink again and again!

Kreinik's Milkpaint "Remember

Um. Maybe some of us should start a "Remember the Ladies" support group. Mine's about 25% finished. Last stitched on it sometime about a year ago???

LOL Oh the madness that was my whirlwind trip to NH. I am exhausted. And sick. No voice this morning. Next summer I promise we will get together.

You got what's going around up here - I am SO sorry! DS had it, I've been fighting it off and DH is trying to do the same with out the OJ and sinus tabs.

Sounds like a plan!

That's an idea. I'm so totally in need of support groups to get me to finish some of these things. And I bought the Abigail Adams one because I really liked what it said. And wanted to try the silks. And was at some Doug Kreinik talk at Needlewoman East. And, well, and, and.....

Hey - Leesburg????? Glad to see you made it back!

I'd *love* to! Still working on trying to set up that visit east for next fall. In the meantime, I've joined a Quaker Quarterly Exchange (Legacy Embroiderers' Guild on EzBoard) and a small (6 of us) local (well, if Anaheim and parts of San Diego county constitute "local") group of stitchers have decided to have an ornament round robin, and I'm really looking forward to both of those.
