Add me to the list. I'm still contemplating its purchase, since I have quite a few other Christmas designs I haven't yet stitched up. Hmmmm. Maybe one of those should be my next project--IIRC, one is fairly small and I could possibly get it done by Christmas! I only have the bottom 3 bands left on Summer Garden.
LOL - That's the 2nd chart I bought on the outing with Donna on Sunday. I spent some time reading the booklet - it's very interesting. I don't know if you can tell from her website - but there are a lot of compound stitches. You do one pattern through the cloth, then the 2nd part of the stitch is woven through the first part. Very interesting. The chart was quite pricey
- but the diagrams are extremely clear.. To be honest - I didn't have the time or patience to sort out silks for that one, and since Love & Wisdom only needed 7 skeins of silk - it was simpler to pull together.
I'm looking forward to doing the Toccata #2 eventually. I tend to think it'll be a spring project. It really looks lovely. Not that often I can actually sit and read a chart booklet - but this deserved it, IMHO.
So, if you're looking for some different stitches to work, that would be a good choice. Let us know what you decide!
My OCD would like for me to finish every single project that's been collected and kitted (and possibly started, but that's only 2 pieces that I put away, most likely for good)--before I do ANYTHING else.
Ellice - I received Love & Wisdom as a Secret Sister gift a few years ago. I stitched it on an opalescent hand dye and it turned out gorgeous!! I also found it stitched up quite quickly.
I am just finishing up the Sanctuary (another Drawn Thread piece). I really enjoyed this one too, however the chart had a few errors on it. I have Marriage of the Minds on my Wish List....hmmm it's that time of year again; I need to get my Christmas Wish list ready for DH to order for me :)
I stitched the Sanctuary a couple of years ago and took a Blue ribbon at the Deerfield fair with it. I used the following Stitch Along from 1996 and it showed the corrections for the error.

with the exception of 2 of the silks you can share the bulk of them with another stitcher. That cuts the cost down as you only need 1/2 a skein of the NPS Inc.My Sanctuary took 16 weeks to complete by following the Stitch Along . It can be seen at

under finished Needlework album I have also done Indigo Rose's Elizabeth, and have Mother to Daughter in my WIP. I also have True Love kitted and My Son in my stash. Of the Drawn Thread's I have the Cloister Garden as a WIP, and Alpine, Wildflowers, and Prairie Gardens Kitted. I just finished kitting
*Châtelaine's Taj Mahal. But I have to finished my current WIPS first. :-( *
oh WOW! Thank you very much for that link! Your Sanctuary is gorgeous! I did mine in plain old DMC, with a few WDW thrown in there.
I also enjoyed looking at your other finished pieces, and your grandson is CUTE CUTE CUTE :) I am currently almost 6 mths pregnant with our 2nd child. Unfortunately, I've been put on 95% bedrest for the duration of the pregnancy. Hopefully she'll (2nd girl :) will stay put for at least 10 more weeks. Getting lots of stitching done though! I'm thinking I may pick up Mira's Forest Goddess in a little while.
Hey, I'm doing resumes. Applied for one as a Patent Researcher - we'll see if they call. And the Canadian Embassy. And today - doing the beltway bandit submission tweaking.
And I'm probationary joined with a new Rescue Company. I think I'm going to be doing 12 hour shifts - 6-6. Evidently this county is staffed career during the day and volunteers at night. So, it's either do 2 6 hour shifts
- or 1 12 a week. I think I may end up with 2 6s, a 6pm-12am, and then a 12 am-6 am . What fun. So, I have to get that act together - I think I'm doing my first ride-along day with a crew next week, before I start doing my own shifts. Dang, need to order lovely new medic pants. And a little tool holster for the important stuff - at least I know where my good stethoscope is!
Yup, it looks to go quickly. Sounds nice on the opalescent fabric. I think the Toccata #2 will take more time, having looked at the stitches in some detail. My treat for today - after I get the next resume batch out - will be to do downstairs and prep the linen for Love & Wisdom. I have to cut it, and will sew the edges. Scarlet Thread sells their fabric the same way as mail order - in 1/4 yd, 1/2 yd or 1/8 yard cuts, so I have a way too big piece - but Donna may claim the extra bit. I actually hate that - all my usual LNS haunts - you figure how big a piece you need, and you buy it at a per square inch price. Much better. So, it's unusual for me to have fabric stash - but now thanks to having bought some hand-dye's there I have a bit (usually I buy fabric with charts that I want to be ready for stitching).
That's a really nice piece as well. I think she has some error info on the web site - but I could be wrong. Enjoy getting the list together.
LOL - you make me feel so much better and not alone. I think True love will come out in about April or May so that I can finish if for the anniversary in July. I actually have the kit in progress - but not much progress - IIRC the border is close to done. The Taj Mahal is really nice - but I resisted buying the chart. But, I loved visiting the real Taj, and surrounding, so, well, maybe someday.
I'm trying to go with the rule of finishing at least the Summer Garden before starting anything new. And then, back to the "must spend 20 min on a UFO" before working on whatever I "want" to.
Kaito is seven months old and will be visiting me in January for the first time. His name is pronounced KI toe. Poor baby just got his passport and it is Kaito Christopher Fujimoto-Viorritto. I get to see him often via Skype and webcam.
Take good care of yourself and have a healthy little girl. Bobbie V.
Sadly, there's just nothing calling very loudly. Can't get excited over the in-progress and about 3/4 done TW's "Carousel." Have a wedding sampler due in early April and a graduation sampler due in late May. Neither of those is calling very loudly. I'd like to have that new Thea Gouverneur Amsterdam piece, but it's not calling very loudly--certainly not as compellingly as her St Petersburg did. In the mood to put needle and floss to fabric, but nothing's singing.
