New Thread: The New Project You're Lusting after

At least I've finished three Shepherd's Bush pieces, a bargello box top, Charland's "Elizabeth I", Drawn Thread's "Random Thoughts", a small Christmas ornament, and a "Threads to Dye For" piece this year.

MargW working on a round robin Christmas tree for Guild, the never ending "Flower Power",M Design's "Peace Tree", Kreinik's Milkpaint "Remember the Ladies", and a 40 count sampler

Oh - you need to come shopping with some of us ;^)

But, sometimes it's just like that.

Glad to be of help. I know this feeling all too well.

Hey, you've done a lot.

Darn it - you had to remind me - I have the little 40 ct silk gause Kreinik Snow Globe kit sitting out. And I do have one of the Milkpaint kits - the Abigail Adams quote. Darn.

I picked up a Dimensions kit a few weeks ago that I'm dying to start, but I wanted to replace the kit fabric with an evenweave, and I just don't have a piece large enough in the house.

I've put off buying more stash until after Christmas.

It's killing me. ;)

That's the one. I've got all the stitching done - just have to make it up into the thread keep.

I'm in the very same position! I was tempted to change the subject to "Lust Leads to S.E.X."!

And I'm blaming Lucille...she asked for suggestions, and several people threw in web pages that I *had* to go look at, and fell head over heels with the "Generosity" band sampler by Drawn Thread. So, since I needed some Kreinik and was going to the LNS yesterday anyway, I ordered it. And just as I was getting my change, I looked at the wall behind the register and saw a darling mermaid piece:

(Only at the store it was just the one mermaid on the right, and done in a light background, not green) So I bought that chart (using the logic, "I just finished my punchcard and will get $6 off, so I might as well get it now.") and wandered the store for a few minutes, and lo and behold, right before my eyes, was the booklet for "And a Forest Grew." Which was one I was planning to buy on sale later this month, but there were only two copies, and chances are they'd be gone before I got there later in the month (right??) , so "You snooze/you lose...I might as well buy this now."

I'll be delighted to take full responsibility if you need someone to blame. Actually, I'll take full responsibility even if you don't need anyone to blame.

There are simply too many "must haves" and enablers here to satisfy my lust. I have a strange feeling that goes for lots of others in this group as well.

Good for you. Well, after I get the fabric swatches set up for the Pumpkins and the Love & Wisdom, I'm sure that there's enough left over linen to do that little piece. So, it'll go in the queue!

I'm on the last band of summer garden - finally (after some redoes, and my substituting 2 bands of stitches instead of the words). So, I'm going downstairs to work on that in a couple of minutes. If only I can find some beads - then I can finish tonight - else I'll have to get some tomorrow. It's not that I don't have plenty - I just don't know where that particular stash is. Dang.

Anyhow - congrats again on what you've done.

LOL - or shared S.E.X. Leads to more Lust

Of course, you started it - ;^p

I really like the Generosity piece - feel like it should be near the knitting corner.

The mermaids are a very cute piece - I've seen it a couple of places. Will look nice.

I have - sitting around - waiting for me to feel generous towards the crazy SIL : Scooba Dooba - just scroll down the page

Well, I'm not going into the LNS until sales or some such - unless I have to go get the beads for the Summer Garden thing (note that I am totally at the "Must finish this piece - I'm starting to hate it" stage)

That's what I said when I last went to my soon to be closing LNS. As usual, those were famous last words. I gave in and called them this morning and ordered Toccata 2 and the threads to go with it.

They were offering 35% off for their closing sale. So tell me, could any of you have passed up a chance to like that ???? Just think how much money I saved by buying it now!!! lol

What kills me is when the only way to get the chart, is to buy the kit. UGH! I hate paying for something if I'm just going to toss a two thirds of it.

but if the chart is a must have ... what do you do?? -- if its something i really want i try to wait for sales if local or a coupon -- or if its online i hope for free shipping or a coupon or something

the fear for me is ... trying to hold out until the chart only is available -- i have done this a couple times and the kit never went to chart only and then wasnt available after that -- so i usually sit on it for a long while and keep looking at it to make sure its worth it -- so far on my purchased kits i havent

then i wait for nordic needle to have an even weave sale and pull the kits together and go buy a length -- a long time ago they used to sell you pieces but now you buy inches wide by the whole length of the cloth

-- so i never go with a specific evenweave in mind -- just see what will work for the kits i have -- i have had great successes with their sales and also ewww i wont try that one again --

the odds and ends that are left over have been used for various other projects such as ornaments and bookmarks -- small hardanger doilies -- so nothing really goes to waste

although i must admit i have steered away from doing anything on black fabric -- although that bright cat on the black background (someone here sent it as a link and i cant find it again) would be one that i would like to try -- so whoever sent that link could you repost it OR at least tell me the name and maker of the piece -- it would be greatly appreciated -- i did see it a while ago and really liked it and then forgot all about it

way to get the chart, is to buy the kit.

LOL - 25% off was my excuse on the last spree. Darn - you could've gotten the threads for me, too! I think it's all Needlepoint Silk - so I'm not worried - there's bound to be a sale when I'm ready......

Send me the list and I'll call and ask her if she can still get them together for you. I know she mentioned that she didn't have one of the Japan Gold colors, but I said to just go ahead without that.

I also have a feeling that the prices may just go down a little more in the next few weeks because I know she wants to be closed right after New Years.

I'm not sure what she has left, but I'll be glad to find out for you.

Thanks - that's sweet. But, I'm not really worried - there will be another sale here, and I don't expect to get to the Toccata for some months. But, if you want me to find the Japan gold for you here - I'm sure that I can. Supposedly, Sue and me, Donna, etc are going to the Stitching Post sale after Xmas. They have quite a lot of stock. And my LNS has an inventory sale in January - and she generally has the Japan gold.

Thanks for the offer - I will however thing about taking you up on it for a little while!

I once bought a whole bag of Kreinik from Herrschners. No choice of colors or sizes, but it was a great buy. Every so often they clean out inventory and it was a very good buy.
