OFF TOPIC - does anyone remember "doodle art posters"

These were large posters that were meant to be colored in by older kids with fine markers or colored pencils? The brand was "DoodleArt" (I think) but danged if I can find anything more complicated than "velvet art" posters (aka fuzzy art).

I had several as a kid and of course they are long gone, but I though DD might like them.

Really? I don't know that the brand "DoodleArt" is still around, but I routinely buy posters that are basically the same thing (often to keep little kids busy at dance performances--though I substitute colored pencils or crayons for the markers in that situation). Michael's usually carries them, in multiple sizes and levels.

I thought I saw something like that around Christmas time in Michaels . If you can find a knowledgeable person in your local Michaels, maybe they can tell you if and when they might be available.

I'll try to remember to ask at my Michaels the next time I'm there.

I remember buying one for one of mine. I have seen them still in an art supply shop.

I've only seen the "velvet"/fuzzy ones there. I'll look again. The ones that I am talking about are quite detailed.

Our Michael's also has the fuzzy ones, but the ones I'm talking about are detailed, just like the DoodleArt posters. They had a couple different sizes, and a few different levels of difficulty. They came in translucent tubes (different colors for different levels of difficulty). I don't know the brand name.

Off to Michael's on Monday then. Did you ever do the DoodleArt posters? The level of detail was amazing.

I'll cross my fingers and hope your Michael's carries them, then! I do have some vague memory of doing DoodleArt posters, but I don't think I did many. I think they are fantastic for occupying a medium sized group of kids who would otherwise be bored and making trouble, though! ;-)

I remember the doodle art posters. We would give them to our kids at Christmas to help keep them occupied over the holiday. In fact all 6 of us would gather around a card table and each would color in the section nearest to them. Even DH would join us. Good thing to do on cold and snowy winters. .

I'm pretty sure our local Hobby Lobby had the mini four packs (or something very similar). I almost bought the fish ones to embroider some day.

Did they also put out folders? I remember having folders to color in available thru the school bookstore in Jr High. Even then I needed to keep my hands busy in order to pay attention to what was being said, so went thru a bunch of them!
