OT: A few prayers requested.

I had some routine blood tests done a week or so ago, and they showed I had an *extrememly* low haemoglobin count; accounting for a feeling of not much energy recently. One potential cause is some form of internal bleeding. I am off to have an endoscopy, and a colonoscopy on Thursday, as a result of which I hope we will have a diagnosis and prognosis. Unfortunately at my age, any medical problem can be serious, but I hope and believe this problem is minor.

Best wishes Jim. Do whatever they tell you for prep (I'm a "veteran" of

1 sigmoidoscope @ 27, 3 colonoscopies @ 31, 35, & 40). I have honestly found that the less I have in me, the easier the prep is. Are you taking blood thinners by any chance? My Dear Aunt had some blood count problems (after a severe bleeding incidence where the cause was never really found) -- come to find out, it was a haemroid (spelling?) that was slowly but consistently leaking blood.

Prayers & thoughts with you, Jim. Had a scare myself not so long ago but it turned out to be something very trivial that was easily fixed.

Hoping they get you sorted soon Jim.

I was taken in hospital yesterday with irregular heart beat and chest pain. They let me loose today fortunately no heart damage.

It was Jim's birthday on the 3rd of this month. Hope he does not give me an ear bashing LOL

Good luck with that. When my serious anemia was diagnosed - the internal bleeding was part of the cause. Take meds for that, and most people can be helped with the meds (like Nexxium or similar), possibly Carafate (to coat your stomach), and iron supplements.
