OT: DD's Test Results

DD#2, she who was misdiagnosed with costochondritis when it was esophogeal problems, had her upper endoscopy this morning.

They found hiatal hernia and ulcerations, and took tissue to biopsy. Biopsies are "precautionary" and the meds she's already taking should help the ulcers and hernia. Hopefully that's all there is to it, and she'll heal up soon.

Apparently she was still pretty tranq'd when Dude got her back, and she looked at him and giggled "you have two faces! I see four eyes and two noses!" I'm guessing that means she was feeling pretty comfy during the procedure!

No wonder you`re getting tension headaches with DD being ill after the fire and everything that`s gone on this year. Poor kid - I was comparatively recently diagnosed with a hiatus hernia, which caused acid reflux and inflamation of the oesophagus - I just take a tablet every morning now and it`s been absolutely fine ever since. Tablet? It`s more like a horse pill! I`m sure she`ll soon be feeling much better.

Well, that's easily solved, assuming the ulcerations are just from the acid reflux. So, I bet we'll be sharing some meds ;^) And she'll be feeling well soon.

That's a good thing. The endoscopy is far from pleasant if you're not. The first time I had it done, they did the colonoscopy first, then the endoscopy

- and I wasn't sedated - they'd started with a very minimal amount, and my bp had dropped so much that they didn't add more - and I'm such a good patient. Poor doc and nurses - the automatic save me reflexes, along with the gag reflex kick in. Even though I didn't want to fight, no exageeration

- 2 nurses had to hold me down, and get a third so that the doc could get the scope down far enough. Not fun. Anyhow - for the future scopes, they did the endoscopy first - and with some different semi-anesthesia. IIRC, they weren't expecting to have to do the endoscopy the first time, but, well, life happens.

DH always looks forward to what I'll say after sedation. I think he's saving them up for a greatest quotes bribe.

Glad the kidlet is "happy" and I'd bet sleeping it off.
