So for something totally off-topic - I had some unexpected and eclectic music S.E.X. Yesterday. Had to go get a new drug ref book, and just had to use some Borders coupons - so, browsed the music (buy 3, get 1 free, and they also honored the sale price).
Anyhow, DH and I have very eclectic (read that mixed up the only thing we don't like is twangy country, or really, really, heavy metal) And, I bought some CDs. Here's the assortment -
Shawn Colvin -"These Four Walls" very rich, interesting lyrics - she sounds great
Barenaked Ladies - I think the disc is "are Me" - nice sound, typical
Los Lonely Boys - "Sacared" (new disc)- This is fabulous. We have their first disk. They're an interesting group - 3 Mexican-American brothers (Texicans) - and really talented. I liked the first disk. I love this one
- literally was dancing around the house listening to it. They dedicate so much to their father, their parents - for keeping them on a good path, etc. But the music is just makes you want to sing and dance - great beat. Of course, this is only my opinion - but I wanted to share. They might look slightly scarey, but their songs are just completely not so - kind of the don't judge a book by it's cover.
And, for grins - Allison Moyet - "Voice" - which came out about 2 years ago, but I never got it. She's singing - her rich, deep voice - with a classical orchestra. It's very much older songs, but nice. A little different. She doesn't release a lot, but I love her older disks - generally she writes her own stuff - but this disk includes pieces by Elvis Costello, mixed in with older classics.
Okay, well, that was my musical sharing.
Oh, I also bought - last week - "Five for Fighting" - how could I pass up a hockey title like that - it was a present for DH (hey, we have a license plate "2&TTEN" - the hockey crew should get it).
Anybody else with some music hints? I'm actually reloading DH's Ipod, now that our machine is up and running merrily along.
