LOL - I was the first "graduate" from my high school - which had no seniors, and I graduated the year early. However, they had no diplomas, etc, and sometime during the last quinmester I dropped my German 4 class as I was too busy. And the university I was to attend didn't care if I graduated or not. So, I didn't graduate. But, sometime during the first quarter my freshman year, my DM sent over my mid-term grades, and the VP noted on my transcript that I had met all the requirements for graduation. So, I just get a "verification" letter - or supply them with a higher education diploma. Point blank, not being an academic, I'm not spending the $$ to replace my lost with my parents' stuff missing diplomas - but I think I can get the Alumni association to send me a mini, or some such thing. When I went to grad school, I walked for undergrad in May, but one of my depts decided I had to take some 400 level Engineering Economics class - though I had other credits which supplanted it. So, I went to a summer session, taok some graduate OR class, another 500 level math, and the prof for the EE class told me not to bother after I got 100 on the 2 first tests, and homeworks. He was a really nice guy, and embarassed that the new acting chairman was making me waste my time, not to mention the tuition. So, I was in grad school when my diploma got sent to my folks. Grad school - one is with the folks, another may be with the exDH. Who knows.
Thanks for the hope - it was certainly different. Possibly the most mind-numbingly boring few hours of my life. As in very poorly executed orientation videos for nursing training stuff - the HR girl couldn't figure out how to set up the screen properly, so we either watched a 6" X 8" quicktime video - in a conference room, with 5 of us. Or, even worse, Power point with a split screen of talking heads to a web cam. Had 2 stacked of the same head on the right, and the PP about half the screen - so we could only see about 50% of the slide - the upper left. Bizarre. Then we had to do quizzes. And on at least 2 of the subjects since we couldn't actually see what the h was being pointed at - well that was a really bad, frustrating experience. The other - the answers - supposedly per the answer sheet from the safety & health manager - were wrong. But, on the whole - it'll be interesting at the least. I think once done with the not too with it HR girl - who at least 3 of us appeared to be overwhelming - she couldn't answer questions, and some of the info is definitely different than we were told in the hiring process. DH said "jeez, it makes it seem like the gov isn't screwed up" . Scarey.
Frozen is good. They are meant to be roasted, then you can freeze them, and peel later. Or peel after roasting - then chop them up and freeze. I do both.
Hey - I'm afraid of resembling that beached whale thing - but I don't care. It's a dream - but.... Haven't seen my family down there in a while, so.....
I'm going for more while they have them. I already cooked with some yesterday - awesome pan roasted potatoes with green chiles. Digging out my Coyote Café cook book (Mark Miller - famous SW chef) - I think I'm doing some green chile cheese biscuits, and some bread. Then, I'm going to make Green Chile stew - the authentic way!
