I am Danish and here's a tidbit to add: twice a year there are two days called P-day (P is for P=E5ske, which is Easter) and J-day (J is for Jus, which is Christmas). On those two days Tuborg starts to sell their special Easter and Christmas-themed beers. And they sell a LOT. Last year they actually ran out of Christmas beer

At Christmas we have gl=F8gg, a christmas drink made with red wine, spices, sliced almonds and raisins. I usually don't drink wine but it tasts pretty good, warms you up.
There's more than red wine in true glogg. I used to accompany the Swedish Glee Club - 100% Swedes all. And I got the most delicious recipe for making it. There's other liquor as well. It's truly a lovely holiday drink. Unfortunately, I have lost the recipe, or I'd share it.

There is a restaurant chain here that makes a "Christmas Pudding" stout. It started out on a winter seasonable menu, and was so well received that it is now served year round. It is a lovely thick dark brown stout--my favourite brew at that particular place. Dawne

And that means what ? I doubt I am an alcoholic (although I muchly enjoy wine) as I have had two small glasses since New Years when I started to diet. I believe something terrible should be happening if I am an alcoholic ???
There are people who can drink and not drink at will.
My Father used to give me stout as a kid in an effort to boost my appetite cuz I was so skinny ...... well, it's finally kicked in XXX years later. :-(

What makes you think I was talking about anyone in particular? I mean, you can be defensive if you wish, but I don't think I said any names, just that sadly, people who drink TOO MUCH WINE are also alcoholics. That's what it means. No hidden messages.
Excuse me, but I wasn't preaching to anyone. As usual, the snot rags are all about the cabin. I'm not a "reformed" anything. And yes, anything in excess is not a good thing.
I often drink too much wine, but I not an alcoholic. I'm also not judgemental.
