PING: Monique Reed

G'day Monique! Since my outgoing email's not working, this is the only way I could think of to let you know I received yours! =:-0

Please sit tight and I'll be in touch as soon as I've sorted myself out.

(Ellie says 'G'day' - she graduated from Primary School the other day and there are Pics of her in the The Dress...)

Love,

Geez, G'day Gillian! I'm amazed you remember me! It's been a while! LOL!

The family's chundering on, basically. DD's growing up (twelve) and about to start high school in January. DS is slowly improving after his slump of a few years ago. DH is on the mend. I'm keepin' on keepin' on. I haven't stitched in ages, but have discovered quilting and am still sewing for the family. If I can manage a new pair of glasses for Christmas, then I'm hoping to increase my output as the eyesight improves (buggerit!)

The Ugly Sister had a nasty shock this year when the council resumed The Paddock after forty years! She's had to relocate the horses and sell off all the cattle that belonged to her parents-in-law. The nice thing, though, is that she (Ugly) has got a new young mare to work with and is about to launch on the dressage circuit again. Hooray!

Mum is well but slowing down (she'll be eighty-six on New Year's Day) She's still quite independent and does everything for herself, though. Her little dog, Clancy, is her best mate and Ugly and I visit or call her every day. Just yesterday, Ugly drove Mum up to the new Paddock so she (Mum) could meet Kate and Trigger (DBIL's palomino). Kate must've known something, as she stuck her head in through the car window and gave Mum a big kiss, which made her day. Mum reckoned it was so nice to be with the horses again (even though she's never ridden, Mum has always had a 'way' with our nags).

Anyway, a very Merry Christmas to you too! May the Stash Fairy be kind and leave lots of phabulous phlosses and phibres for you to phondle!

Love,

Hey Trish

I haven't checked out RCTN is years - I was amazed and pleased to still see some familiar names.

It's good to hear that you and your family are OK. Hope everyone had a happy and healthy Christmas.

I'm still a member of the Embroiderers guild, and have taken up beading. Not that I seem to stitch much at guild - far to busy gabbing to stitch.

G'day Karen!

Wow! What a surprise to 'see' you after all this time. Still at Medowie? (It *was* Medowie, wasn't it?) We had a very hot Christmas, as I'm sure you did too. I've toyed a bit with beading as well, but nothing to write home about. I have a large pile of silver and blue paillettes and matching sead beads to decorate DD's latest pair of hot/cool jeans. As soon as I get over 'I am a high school parent' syndrome, that is. I've almost memorised the timetable and it's only day Three!

I haven't stitched much in a few years - I've been quilting more recently, but haven't been able to finish the quilt I made for DS owing to daggy eyesight. New respectacles are on their way, so I hope that'll make a difference. You can see my efforts at webshots (album's called Betrisher) - DD's quilt got finished, but DS' is still only half-quilted. I have an Oz botanical one rolling around in my mind for Me and also a Strawberry-flavoured one (not pink, but red and green). I hope I actually get to do these: it all depends on the respectacles, I s'pose...

Anyway, thanks for the 'G'day!' Best wishes to you and the family from me and mine! ;-D
