Maybe I am reading too much in to this statement, but are you one of these men who cannot cook for himself?
How could I have forgotten tongue! Pressed tongue, sliced very thinly onto thick slices of buttered, fresh home-baked bread. Mmmmm...

I don't dislike liver but best to cook it in a medium pan, if the heat is too high liver will often get that bitter taste associated with it.
I could take over the kitchen and cook for myself but the after-effects of such a takeover don't bear thinking about
Trust me, she wanted to serve his tongue and other assorted organ meats on a regular basis....

This was fast and furious - small pieces that finished cooking off the stove.

I guess with me it's "If you're born a prune, you shall be eaten as a prune."
Isn't it sad that even a piece of fruit has gotten such a bad rep that they had to change it's name?
I wonder what they'll come up with for raisins? Are they feted to be called dried grapes from now on? Lucille

What's with this thread? It's 8:30 a.m. and you are all making me hungry! LOL
MMM. Lima beans. Yum. And this time of year with fresh corn, succotash is amazing.
And to the person who doesn't like brussel sprouts, try them this way:
fry up a couple of pieces of bacon trim the ends off the sprouts, then slice them lengthwise so you have shredded brussel sprouts toss them into the bacon fat and saute for a few minutes now add some chicken broth and let them simmer, maybe 10 minutes or so Serve with the crumbled bacon on top
You can add a variety of things to this - sauteed onions or garlic, dried cranberries, dried cherries, toasted pine nuts, toasted hazelnuts.

LOL.. that's a good one.. I applaude you on this comment.. Good laugh.. too close to the truth though. Ang.
Cheryl. Cranberries and curry doesn't sound like a great flavor mix, but, I'll bet it's interesting.. My mom always told me "don't knock it til you try it" which to me seems to be true.. I have tried somethings that sounded totally disgusting, but turned out to be not so bad.. At least if you try something... then you can say honestly say you don'tlike something...

AMEN!!!! No liver for me.. It's DISGUSTING.. Exactly... absolutely NOTHING will make cover that nasty taste. Mom used to make me eat a little piece every time she made it when I was growing up... OMG... I couldn't stand it. She always said it was in my head.. Ohhh, how I hated it. Now... I'm an adult, and do still live with her (We're helping mraise my nephew) when she makes it, she throws a piece of chicken or hamburger patty on for me. She also used to do the onion things, but she used Worchestershire (sp?) sauce or sometimes steak sause to try and get me to eat it. Ang.
I have ad tripe before, and yes, I do know what it is, and I liked it very much actually. I havn't had it in YEARS though... Hmm... Might see what I can doo in the next couple of weeks on that one.. Now, Liver..... gross...
Ang.
Okay, it's someday. Tell us, please! :)
