My doctor doesn't seem to see it that way. There has also been a recent study that showed that many times the medications taken tended to escalate the whole thing.
My doctor goes along with me. If I say whatever I am currently taking is getting less effective (and they have all done so one by one and that's fairly typical) then he decides on another, or another from a different family of drugs, or a trip back to the neurologist if that seems indicated.
Migraines are tricky to treat I guess and only the patient can tell how it is working out. I also have bad tinnitis and read recently there is some suggestion that it relates through to migraines. I always thought it was getting my ears boxed by the nuns in elementary school, but maybe I blamed them too hastily. I just know I have to forget the tinnitis and that way I am less aware of it, now I have mentioned it and thought of it, I almost need to crank the radio up a notch. It's like not seeing floaters after a couple of days lol
I'm out by ten years I guess, time goes faster as you age lol
I can assure you that tinnitus probably isn't from getting ears boxed by nuns. I can state for sure that I never had a nun for a teacher, but I sure have the tinnitus. Maybe we can all get together and start a tin whistle band.

There is an audiologist in NB who has found if he can make a CD of your tinnitis that is close to what you hear, if you play that loudly for 20-30 minutes you can have silence for up to six months. He doesn't know why but it works. The problem is getting the right sound on the disk as apparently we all hear differing noises.
Thanks for the offer. If I wanted to pull strings, we have some hockey pals that are embassy employess. It'll be interesting to see if I get called for an interview. I did write some hopefully not too obsequious cover letter. We'll see. It got e-mailed about 90 min ago. Was a good thing to do, as I also found a couple of beltway bandits looking for 3 positions having to do with testing and eval programs - which is pretty much what I did for many years. So, I'm going to re-tweak the resume again, and send that out tomorrow. The salary on the embassy position is definitely less than I'd get in private, but it's a really interesting job. OTOH, the announcement was only open for a little over 2 weeks, so it may be wired for someone already there, and they were just doing the minimum required by law. Of course, on the extra stuff on the resume, I do mention being an Advanced level USA Hockey official tee heee. Had to get that in there.
Well, off to finally shower and dress - got the CAPS v Ottawa tonight. Should be rockin' in the arena - especially after the hubbub of the Buffalo game on Saturday and the CAPS unexpected significant win.
Got to go, elice
Well, maybe. I just could remember the episode that got me the shot - rather 2 shots - in the doc's office. And, more, I remember because of the friend in med school, and I was separated from the XDH and seeing the going to be the stupid mistake husband . What a way to remember things. Lol

To annoy you.

And comes and comes and comes.....each post getting more and more nonsensical then the last! I can't help but laugh over the lengths some folks will go to to try to be right and prove others wrong!
Caryn
Haha! Sorry Caryn, but that`s a bit of the pot calling the kettle, old dear!

>Flickering or very bright concentrated lights are what trigger my migraines. I can even see something like that on tv, and sometimes it'll trigger. There used to be a tv show called something like the Long Hot Summer, and in the opening, there was a closeup on a bright sun -- and it happened every time. I finally learned not to watch that part.
Also, watching someone (like kids) spin around will trigger me.
Apparently I'm very suggestible.
No, migraines can be very easily triggered visually. The other thing I can never do is wear a close fitting hat or things like scarves around my neck. I thought that was me until I joined the Migraine Foundation and that was frequently mentioned in their newsletter.
Not necessarily. Some drugs are approved in Canada before they're approved here.
Hmmmmmmmm. You've given me an idea. I think I can reach the note I'm hearing. :)
All I can say is that there is a reason euphamisms exist.....and it ain't so someone can accuse you of being foul mouthed because you use one rather than using a profanity! I ain't saying I haven't had my part in this nonsense, but that really was going out on a spindly limb!
Caryn
You`re right in that case, granted. That one was certainly misdirected to you! I don`t think I`ve ever seen you use anything stronger than "Freaking!" LOL.
I repeat - has ANYONE heard how Victoria is? I think it`s her birthday on the 22nd - otherwise I don`t know why her name is on my calendar on that day.

I'm going to ask nicely. Could you two please stop getting your frustration out by bashing me. It's time for the two of you to crawl back under your rocks until the next victim comes along.
Same here -- I have such unpredictable reactions to so many prescriptions that herbal stuff is easier to deal with.
I get just as good relief with ginger tea for my sinus headaches, and unlike Sine-Aid, there's no maximum dosage. If the pain gets worse, I can drink another cup without checking the clock to see if it's time for the next dose. If one cup doesn't help, I can have a second immediately.
As we speak, I'm clearing my sinuses with eucalyptus oil, hoping to avoid waking up with a headache tomorrow.
And hot baths for pain to avoid another NSAID ulcer, so I can save the pain rubs (and my skin!) for bedtime. I will have to get over to Natural Foods for some arnica -- thanks for that suggestion.
Now that sort of thing causes me to have a panic attack. Like in a restaurant, if I sit in a booth that is too tight, where the seat is too close to the table and my belly touches -- the next thing I know is that I'm gasping for breath, and only a xanax will help. Some days a tight turtleneck will do it, others days not, but always a tightly tied scarf would do it, so I just don't wear them like that any more.
