Is this a law of stitching? When you really get down to work on a piece you will run out of the floss color in the area you need to finish to reach an area where you can use other colors? I ran out of DMC 312 (went thru an entire skein already) in the water around Noah's Sub. I can work on the sub itself, but I can't reach more of the water area until I fill it in with the 312! So...is it just me or is this a common phenomenon? Caryn

No, it`s not just you! Murphy`s law is the more polite version! It crops up all the time. I have the complete range of DMC and Anchor, but the colour I really want is ALWAYS the colour I`ve just used up on something else! Fortunately, I usually design old houses, so I make sure that I have at least three skeins of each of my basic palette (at least the greens and browns, which I use a lot of!) colours, which does prevent SOME of this phenomenon occurring!And isn`t "phenomenon" an AWKWARD sort of word!With this in mind I usually suggest using any available flower colour in my charts, which makes life easier. You can use up that odd bit of colour that`s not enough for anything major! Tubs of flowers, strategically placed, are very useful for smoothing out awkward corners on a building, I find! They`re never out of place - we go in for lots of flower tubs over here! Thank goodness!Pat P

Jim's naked ladies are actually quite nicely done. Every so often, I see something (Vargas, Erte or other risqué posters) and think Jim would like to stitch that one! LOL
