Temari for soon to be born Grandson

Hello to everyone,

Within the next 2 weeks DS Chris and DIL Ayako will give birth to my first Grandson Kaito (KEYE-TOE) Christopher. He will be affectionally be called KC (kasey) by the family. I am unable to attend the birth as DS and Aya are in Japan. Long story short I started a temari on Saturday for Kasey.

I chose Haloed Stars from DV's Temari Adventures. I placed a rattle with a red bean, ladybug bead, crystal drops and diamonds, a piece of metal and a new penny inside. (bean for food, ladybug as my signature and appreciation of nature, metal for strength, penny for wealth and rain drops and rainbows as represented by the crystals.) Pictures are in my temari album at

only have the first half done and should be able to finish it nextweek.

I will admit that I hated to pick out the orange colors as I tend to pick coral tones and they looked too close to the red. But my mother and LNS shop owner were a big help to me. (I had to unpick the pale coral halo and do a complete tone change. sigh)

I would appreciate any comments, some of the pentagons looked wonky to me. I will bring it with me to Celebrations. Bobbie V.

Bobbi, its just beautiful!!! I obviously don't know anything about temari, because your haloes look just great to me. What do you mean by "wonky"? I love the colours too! Man, I really would love to try this, but don't think I could get away from the pull of cross stitching to do it. Gorgeous temari, all of them.

I'm booked on Saturday (dogshow) but I may try to make it up Friday. Hard to say at this point in the semester if it will end with a wimper or a bang. *grin*
