I finally managed to get an account on Google, so that I could post, as well as read. Our trip has been great. We left Florida in mid-May, and have been seeing the sights and wonders of North America. A large amount of time was spent going "up" the Rockies. we started with Teton NP, and then through Yellowstone, Glacier, Banff in Canada, and Lake Louise. Yes, Sheena, we went to Lake Moraine, and it was gorgeous.
We are now in Minnesota, heading for time in the Upper Peninsula of Wisconsin, and down to Port Huron for the Labor Day holidays. We have spent one to two weeks at each place, so we have not been rushed, and have been able to enjoy "down" days; cleaning, shopping, stitching etc.
A high point was meeting Joan Erickson in her home town of Grand Forks, ND. We had a lunch together, and then she took time out from her busy day to give me a fantastic tour of Grand Forks. I did not remember the flood of 1997, but I was totally in awe of the massive extent of the flooding and devastation, and the way the town has rebounded. Maybe the folks there should give New Orleans some advice !
She brought along some of her completed work; absolutely gorgeous. I was a bit relieved I had nothing for show and tell, because my skill is not up to hers!! I had hoped I might have been able to get another visit, but rain, hubby and other things got in the way. BTW, Joan, the toilet got fixed yesterday!!!!!
We only occasionally have access to Wireless Internet, so basically I have used it to pay bills, and read email. I have however followed the progression of the Angel ( she looks gorgeous), and was able to check on Mirjam's welfare. I know firt-hand that being in the midst of bombing and a war "ain't fun"!!
Take care all of you; Cheryl, I am still planning to get together in October.
