Woodlawn Outing - DC Area

That sounds like fun. I think they might be doing something like that also at a couple of the other "working" historic sites - wonder if at Claude Moore in Sterling that'll start happening. Or the park that's up behind CIA.

Good idea. When my mom passed away we decided to have a bench put by her burial site - there was a small tree there as well. My dad insisted that we had to change the placement - because the bench has to be by the foot, not the headstone (flat markers in the cemetery). Originally, the bench was at the foot, on the west end - facing into the lovely central area, trees, etc

- but, no, my dad said "I don't want to be facing the turnpike - I'll be here a lot more than you - since you're only coming to visit" - referring to his adjacent plot. To the west of this cemetery is indeed the Florida Turnpike - over a wall, pretty far from their sites - but, we finally gave in. It was pretty funny - so now when we go sit and visit - we're the ones stuck facing the turnpike!

Yeah - what she said.

Ellice also in Virginia
