Chinese pottery ? (help needed)

I'm not sure I'm posting on the right forum, but anyway:

Hello there !

I have inherited two chinese (?) vases from an aunt. I know they have been in the family for at least 75 years but I do not like them very much.

you can have a look at them here:

anybody tell me if they are of some value or if they are fakes or cheap made for european export, which is my opinion.A friend of my daughter (she is 14) really likes them: should I give them staightaway to her?

Sorry for my poor english.

Regards, Jeanne

From what I can tell, the stamp on the bottom of the vase is Hua Shan. Hua Shan (flowering mountain) pottery was named for a very beautiful and famous Taoist mountain in the Shanxi province of China. I don't recognize the artist's name (the red stamp) and I have no idea of the worth of your vases but maybe I've given you enough information to guide you in the right direction.

i'd hate to see something in the family for 75 years passed onto a child & then smashed. the work is old, looks involved, and at 75 years ago might be special to people for "occupied china" or simply that old a timeslot.

from the pictures they look semi-cloisone (kloy-zone-ah spelling??). i'd take them! do you live in southern california?

the one seems to have a strong thick lip indicating maybe hand thrown and not necessarily cast ware which to me makes it more valuable.
