A Bummer!

My Ipod died today and I am in mourning. Life without music is not much of a life at all. Now I will have to chose a replacement, and I didn't want to spend any more money this close to Christmas. I might just wait and see if I can get along without it. Rediscover the use of CD's in a Boom Box. Boy I was used to the convenience of the Ipod. Sigh!

I don't know WHAT died here yesterday. It's that cute little thing that looks like an alligator with its mouth wide open that communicates with the keyboard (somehow). I could not use the computer keyboard so I couldn't get to Pandora and play my music either. Had to live without music . . . until, of course, I realized that there was really no reason not to just punch the play button on the cd player. groan. Life is hard. Polly

Howdy!

R.I.P.

How can there be "life without music"? Maybe on Mars....

Crank up the old music players, those boom-boxes & Walkman, the Bose hooked up to the computer. Music is as necessary as quilting! Got iTunes? I don't use the iPod husband gave me, but I keep it "just in case" the need/mood arrives. Went to Radio Shack in Dec. & got an "other", inexpensive player for bike-rider-pedicabber son; it has nice ear buds, and a soft foam case to protect if dropped. He sez it's great, as good as his ex-girlfriend's 'Pod.

Of course, some of us could call & s> My Ipod died today and I am in mourning. Life without music is not

Only if you heard my singing, would you consider it costly. Especially to your hearing

That's awful news!

I rely on my Ipod for all sorts of reasons. I think I would have mine replaced with my last sou.

OK, so I might settle for a *generic* make, but it ticks all my want boxes. I have talking books, music, exercise/mediatation/yoga instruction, photos and lectures on mine. Too much not to have it.

In fact, I'd go pinch DH's, he doesn't use his so much...

From the over 3500 songs I had on it, I had various types of music programed for various types of moods I was in. If I was up and needed stimulating fast paced music, I would hit that one. If I was in a reflective mood, then that was the category I would hit. And last but not least, at bed time there was the "Music for Love" category, that was available. Soft soulful Jazz by Gerry Mulligan, Miles Davis, and others of that sort. Damn, that button was showing signs of wear, and is probably why the whole thing failed. Sorry for that, but I couldn't resist.

It was about 3 years old. I had purchased the additional 1 year service contract, but that was not offered as an extension option beyond one year. It was the Classic, which was still running on the hard drive for operation. Now that same model uses some sort of memory for power, and no longer has a hard drive, so I think I will replace it with the new version rather than throw money into repair of an obsolete model. We are going into the Apple store in Columbus tomorrow. That is a journey that is fraught with negative cash flow potential. I am interested in seeing the new I-pad, and my wife might be interested in looking at a new Imac as her PC is aging none too gracefully. So much for retirement financial security.

I could do without my BB before my iPod. I'm looking forward to the iPad.
