A Thank You

Feb 20, 2007 15 Replies

For years, I've made baby quilts for my sons and their wives to give as baby gifts. Sometimes I get a thank you note; usually I don't. But I enjoy making quilts that size and it's never really bothered me.

Today my daughter in law in Lincoln (I was there to kidsit today) gave me a photo album. She'd made a page for every baby quilt I'd given her to give as a gift. She asked each recipient to take a photo of the baby quilt with the 'baby' as he/she is now. She also included any thank you notes she'd gotten, birth announcements, etc.

I'm absolutely 'floored' with the album. I can't even remember some of the quilts, but it's so neat to see them with the children they were intended for.

Can you think of a nicer thank you?

How wonderful for you Joan, especially as you have kept no record for yourself.

Wow! What a fabulous idea and what a thoughtful DIL!!! It shows your efforts were truly appreciated! I can't think of a nicer thank you! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Wow Joan! What a special gift, and what a thoughtful DIL to think of something so wonderful. I'm sure you will treasure the album for many years.....

How wonderful for you!! It must be like getting a giant hug as a thankyou for each quilt.

And what a great DIL to do that.

That is a truly wonderful present Joan. How very clever of your daughter-in-law to have thought of it, in the first place, and how kind to have done it so beautifully. That is a real treasure. . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

Congratulations for raising such a considerate daughter. She is indeed a "keeper".

Howdy!

Awww--that's fabulous, Joan. Good d-i-l, kudos to her. No, I can't think of a nicer thank you. Or a nicer thing for a mother-in-law to do, making quilts for her kids to give away. Yeee-Haw! to all of you!
