Ahhhhhh!

A couple of years ago I took a sort of art quilt class. We used seminole piecing to make rows. The rows had to go together to tell a story. It was quite the stretch for me.I finally dug out my mostly completed rows to finish them up. I sewed, and cut and pressed and worked. Finally I got all the rows together.Yuck.Yep, a big fat yuck. While in the class I liked some of the individual rows but not all of them and not together. The teacher kept telling me it was wonderful. I figured she was just saying that to be polite. She _was_ just saying that to be polite! Had to be because it's an ugly top.I pulled it off the design wall and folded it neatly and put it into the trash. Then I pulled out some flannel and sewed on something I really wanted to do.Ahhhhh......it's a wonderful thing!I'm so happy that darn thing it in the trash. I NEVER, EVER have to finish it. I learned all I needed to from that project!feels good!marcella

This one is a one-day class, so I guess we'll be doing the background afterwards, at home. :)

That's the way you would want it. I doubt you would want to spend your day doing log cabins. I actually think we spent too much of our class doing the basket. It takes quite a bit of time to cut, fold, starch and weave the strips, then hand sew them to the background. I'd rather learn the "Applibond" techniques she has developed and figure out the basket myself. But that said, I did appreciate her class. KJ
