Another DGS sews! :)

DGS #3 turned seven six weeks after his cousin, whose placemat I showed you about two weeks ago. Dominic came over today and made his placemat, having chosen a baseball-themed fabric to use; his entire family is baseball crazy. I've posted his photo below the other two at for you to see. He's quite proud of his accomplishment, and rightly so. :)

Just so you're not too confused, the boys in first photo (DGS #1) and in the third photo (DGS #3) are brothers; they have a baby sister, too. The boy in the second photo (DGS #2) is their first cousin, and his little brother has another three years to go before he makes anything.

What a lovely tradition you have going there, Sandy. . In message , Sandy writes

It was so hard for me to leave the pictures and quit saying "Ohhhhhhh". How wonderful, how precious. Now. I did turn them loose. Tell us - do we assume that the black is 'blackboard' fabric and how well is it doing? Polly

I can tell already he's a good kid. :-)

LOL! He gets it from his father's side of the family, and from his maternal grandfather's side -- certainly not from anyone in my bloodline!

Thanks, Pat. :) Dominic was certainly anxious to make his placemat, after seeing his cousin's! Now I have a respite until the next one has his turn. ;)

Yes, Polly, the black is the blackboard fabric, and it's doing very well, from what I hear from my two DDs. :)

Isn't if fun with the grands want to sew. :) Your guys did great work.

Great job by all the grands! And what fun for you, Sandy! Can't wait until I live close enough to grandkids to play with them and teach them to sew!

Excellent, another one joins the sewing ranks! The placemats look wonderful and smiles (not to mention pride) on the DGSs faces (all of them) can't be beat. What special days for each boy!

Your grandkids and their placemats and the baby and the quilt are all adorable!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Irene. :) They really have looked forward to doing this.

Thanks, Donna. :) It's been fun, though I won't guarantee that any of them will continue to sew -- still, I can hope!

I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures! You have a good looking brood. We just have one DGS who is 6 mos. old. He is the absolute joy of my life right now. He will also become a stitcher when he is ready. Being the first, he gets his picture taken often. You can see some of the latest here.

Debra, I'd love to see the pics, but the link doesn't take me to them. :(

I thought the same thing, Sandy. What comes up first is an ad for Webshots but near the bottom of the page is something like "No, thanks take me to webshots page". Click on that and it comes up.
