Help us here, Sandy. We really don't know what the situation is. Was the site for the quilt show flooded under? Are there people whose homes are flooded unable to get a hotel room because of the quilters attending? The comments are confusing. Polly

The quilt show venue is right up against the Ohio River, known for flooding. Many of the stores that cater to the quilting crowd are right there, some within a few feet of the river. Lovely walk & painted wall bordering the waterway are a constant reminder that this is a river town, as well as Quilt City U.S.A.. This is next to the (free) parking lot between the quilt museum & some great shops, w/ the convention center in the not-too-far distance:

Way too much water for me, but it is (usually) a beautiful area, near where the Ohio meets the Mississippi.
