Final plans for Paducah

Musicmaker is going without me. I have decided that it would cause a huge set-back in my progress, not to mention the question of what is Cindy going to DO with me when I collapse on her, going nearly comatose from lack of ooomph after a short time - wheelchair or not. I was crushed at first, but I've had about four days to adjust to my realization, so I'm ready to let everyone know. I'll save my custom made Queen t-shirts for some time in the future. So I still haven't been to the show or the big sale at Hancocks - that just means I still have it to look forward to sometime. Right?

Oh Karen, I know you must be disappointed. It is going to happen for you! Just not this year unfortunately. You've made a good decision though. The quilt show is taxing enough when in good health. You'd be taking a big chance if you went when not in great shape. Keep taking care of yourself and shoot for next year. They have it every year you know! Gentle hugs,

What was that terrible movie about a dead guy named Bernie? You know, the one where they kept hauling him around and pretending that he was still alive. I can just imagine poor Cindy having to strap your tired and unconscious body in a wheelchair and piling good stuff from the vendors on your defenseless person. You have absolutely made the right decision. Paducah is not for the faint of heart or body. Next year will come. Polly

"Weekend at Bernie's". Hilarious as a movie.....not so funny if you feel like Bernie at the quilt show. Are you a Cub's fan? Then you know the expression..."wait 'till next year!".

Karen, I've never been to Paducah, either, but I have been to Houston. If Paducah is anything like Houston, you've made a wise -- if disappointing -- decision, though I know you must be terribly disappointed. Disappointment won't kill you, but going to the show might have come pretty close. There's always next year....

True enough, right as rain, and all that! Okay, so what shall we all do, while the vast minority goes to the biggest quilt show in my area?? Any ideas?

Clean up plenty of space on the computer for all the wonderful pictures that will be coming in? Plan appropriate refreshments for our pity party? Send money? Spend it? We'll think of something. Polly

Howdy!

Some of those who are going to Paducah, would you please e' me?

Thanks! R/Sandy-- will miss Karen, too, but the next show will be even better!

Well, as we just spent several dollars (!!) on some plane tickets to England this December, I don't think I'll be spending too much in the next few months! Woohoo, haven't been there for 17 years and DH has never left Australia in all his 46 years. Do I sound excited? :-) Perhaps...

I have relatives in Norwich, Cheltenham and Kineton, as well as an old school friend in Northampton so we'll be catching up with all of them. Of course, we have to check out London too. We only finally made the decision and bought the tickets last night, so a more specific itinerary hasn't quite been worked out yet. :-) Where's your hill, Pat?

It is one of the hills of South Shropshire. So, not a million miles from Cheltenham. So, something might be possible in the way of a meet and greet, if you would like to. I looked up Kineton - and found two. The one near Cheltenham the above applies to equally; the one in Warwickshire might be a bit more problematic - but not impossible of course. . It's the Kineton in Warwickshire.

It would indeed be fun to meet you and any others who are around at the time! We've got 8 months to think about where we're going and see if we can organise something. I'll keep you posted. :-)
