Bamboo Blend Batting Report

As promised, I am reporting on a new batting product. I bought Fairfield Bamboo and Cotton Blend at JoAnn's. IIRC, it was about $30 for a 'large queen' size batting, but of course I paid less with a coupon.

The long arm quilter was very pleased with this batting. She liked the way it handled, and how it quilted. I am very pleased with the look and the feel of the quilt. It has nice body, yet a good drape too. We agree that we'd be glad to use this again.

We used it for the Irish Chain Quilt our Relay For Life Team to raffle. This weekend I took it to a quilting event and sold about 135 tickets to quilters, including some well known professional teachers. I guess all those quilters liked the appearance of this quilt, too!!

NAYY, just a pleased customer. I am NOT endorsing the product or the store, just telling you what happened when we used it here.

Glad you're safe and sound PAT. Have you washed the quilt? It would be good to know how it fared in the wash.

Thanks very much for the report. . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Thanks for that report. I was waiting for somebody to let us know how that stuff is. I think I might pick up a bit of it at the next Joanne's sale, and give it a try. Good to hear the tornado missed you, also.

Pat,

Thanks for the report! I just picked up a small pack of Bamboo at JoAnn's yesterday, and am looking forward to playing with it! I love the way it sounds so far, but I would also like to hear about whether or not the quilt was washed.

I, too, am glad to see that you fared well through the tornadoes last night!

Pat: We've not washed the quilt. The drawing will be June 8th. The quilt will be 'on display' in numerous venues while we sell tickets, so we don't want to have to wash it now and later. Come to think of it, my washer wouldn't work for this, so I'll need someone to volunteer to wash it. My washer has a large capacity, but it is NOT kind and gentle!

Sorry to have asked, Pat. I completely forgot that it was to be a raffle quilt - so, of course, you wouldn't want to have washed it.

We'll get the information by and by, on how this 'new' stuff washes. I think I'll see if they have any at the Malvern Show in a couple of weeks, so at least I can try out how it feels. . In message , Pat in Virginia writes
