Jan! What a glorious way to set off those yummy batiks... so clever! That quilting is magnificent, too. It must have been very difficult to get such perfectly straight and parallel lines... over and over again. I'm mightily impressed with your quilting skills. (Maybe someday I can actually finish a quilt that's not an emergency project and it can get in line for your longarm services.) ;-) Wow! Wow! WOW!!! Good on you!
Leslie & The Furbabies > I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me shop for batiks

Thanks Karen!! And everyone else!!
Now this is hard for me to say, because I have learned so much from this group... and I've had some c> Lovely quilt, lovely name, lucky hubby!
Jan I understand how you feel :-) Yahoo allows you to set up no downloading of photo's in their photo's site and I use it for every photo I put there :-)
Thank you Jessamy!! Thank you for understanding!! And for giving me a good alternative! I will look into getting that set up this weekend. Because I do understand and respect the no advertising policy... it's just a poopy position to be in. Thanks!

Lol! Thanks Taria! And finished quilts are always good!! Heck... I would take all finished quilts!! And yeah... it's tough... because even if you are the innocent party.... say the poor guy who really owned the sewing machine picture.... you still come out looking questionable even though he did nothing more than share something. Kind of like people who show you what is in their machine quilting filler books only to have someone say why buy it? I just printed the whole thing off!! It's just bad form.

I'm not real savvy about this stuff, but is there a way to put a transparent "watermark" on the photo so if it's downloaded, they can't get rid of "quilted by coffeediva" from the picture? That seems like it wouldn't be very complicated. AND have you let the other longarmer know you're aware of the rip off?
I'll go take another look and see in a moment - I do so hope I didn't get it wrong too :-S
my email end bit is at orange dot nl with the same front bit :-)
Thanks KJ! I'll look at my photoshop... I bet it does have a way to do that! Thanks!

akkk... it doesn't!! time to delete some stuff not supposed to end up on someone else's website then :-S
I did email yahoo to enquire about it - who know when and *if* I can get a sensible response (other than what is already in their help files)
Sorry!! And let me make it very clear..... there are MANY awesome, generous longarmers who have spent time helping me, mentoring me, kicking me in the right direction etc. Most are kind, fun, friendly & professional. The corrupt ones are in the few. I'm sure Jessamy would say the same of designers. It's just the few that make it a PITB for those of us who want to play nice. But it's the internet.... you never know who is hanging out/lurking... if it's with good or bad intentions. So, while I want to play and continue enjoying my RCTQ family... heck I've been here for 13 years.... I just need to sort thru some of this and figure out how to combine while respecting the non advertising and my business needs. Thanks again for the patience and the support! I'll keep trolling thru picture sharing websites. Thanks!

yep wot she said :-S
as always it's the few that spoil it for the many :-(
if you find anything please let me know! I'd love to share real life pictures of my work as it gets published :-)
just read thru this thread. that really sucks big time, Jan. can you tell us who this rotten person/s is/are? i've no hesitation in telling her what i think of her practices. jeanne
you could try emailing Marcia at quilterscache.com about this. iirc, her pix are not copyable. just a thot, try it and see if this works or if she's disabled that option in her html. jeanne
You can enter code to disable right-clicking to copy. You can do an internet search for the coding.
L>you could try emailing Marcia at quilterscache.com about this.
That's it... I can disable it on my business web page, but I can not on photo sharing sites. So it leaves me in a rock and a hard spot. And no, I'm not going down in the mud and naming names. But I know from being on my longarm sites, that there are a few out there and I am not the only one. But, this does mean that anyone who has shots on webshots is .... well I can't think of a good word..... but anyone can take any shot on webshots and link it to an auction, blog, etc. Not just your own, but you could click on any pic and they give you the correct link to copy and paste. So.... it's something to consider. Someone takes one of your shots and claims it's them .... someone lists your machine on ebay.... you get the picture.... or they did Yahoo doesn't offer up links, but you can copy it, same with flicker. So.... for the time being... my shots are on my business site if someone wants to see the batik, and I'll keep my eye open for another option.
