Rose, where are you when I need you? Still operating the Yorkie Katrina rescue shelter here. Bit by bit, we are learning the needs of these little guys - one will dig through anything to escape - except, if you leave the door open he won't leave. We've decided he has a thing about being shut up and is just fine if he knows he can leave if he wants to. One will not eat unless someone else (human or furry faced) is challenging for the food bowl. No fun to eat alone. One will not sleep unless she's up on a people bed with her very own pink quilt. Every one wants to be the "only child". Wish you were here to do some Yorkie loving. Polly

Polly, Those all sound like my Tia combined! They are sensitive, amazing creatures and I adore them. I would be there in a heart beat if I could. Sounds like you could use all the laps, puppy quilts, and mamma squishes you can get! (That's Tia's favorite, and most reassuring thing right now [thunderstorms lately] - I wrap one arm around her, squish gently and firmly, scratch the back of her neck with my free hand, she buries her face in my elbow, and she knows she's safe.) Know I'm there is spirit.

No, all of these terrors have loving homes and vast numbers of members on the staff to serve their needs usually. They're just busy sawing tree limbs off their houses and shoveling parquet floors out the front door. We may be down to just two Yorkies today - but one of them is a convicted felon and a relentless party animal. Polly
