Yep, that is a heavier weight. The 50-2 is on orange spools.

I on the other hand was definitely using the 50/2 on the orange spool. Which was highly unsatisfactory and broke a LOT.

I had one spool that I tried hand sewing with that broke a lot. But I believe it was black, which is notorious for being weaker in many cases. The beige I usually use is good. Blackrose I think you got a bum spool or had a burr somewhere. I tried the Aurifil on the recommendation of a long arm quilter who uses it. Figured if it stands up to that kind of speed then it must be fine for me to use.

I would contact the distributor and ask about it.
