for me alone so obviously tis OT, was.......Re: nzlstar*

no worrys, i'm on the case. we had the neighbourhood meeting on sunday, so i'm sure they all agree they poles going up without consultation would have meant there would now be no issues over poles as they'd of been forced to put in the more expensive telescopic poles they have told me on the phone that were considered but passed in cuz they were too expensive. oh well, now what is all this costing them in time/energy/resources. no worrys, i'll fix their little red wagon and with way less running here/there/everywhere. suits, hah!! j.

"SewVeryCreative" ...

I should *probably* do this privately, but I'm posting it >publicly in case > anyone else has (or might have in the future) issues like > Jeanne's dealing > with. > > **Please note that I'm venturing to the dark side of what > I do and what I > went to college for -- and please, please don't think I'm > an evil person!** > > Jeanne, you need to think like a *marketer* with your pole > problem.

It'll be a slow process to do something about the pole, as it always is when dealing with government bureaucracy, but with a lot of determination things can get done. I would probably be doing the same as you if I were in the same situation - I can just see me looking out my kitchen window and fuming.....and getting even more determined to "fight city hall".

Others have given you good advice so I won't try doing that but I just wanted to cheer you on.

Take care Allis> no worrys, i'm on the case.

Research has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years; It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Ohhhh! I LOVE it!! We have a Town Council that it describes to a "t"... Whenever they have to make a serious decision, they establish a Committee to "study" it (again and again and again....) By the time they do decide, it becomes twice the original price to accomplish ... so they establish yet another committee to look into it. [Currently, they finished "deciding" on what to do with our town's old, outdated high school - tear it down and build a new larger elementary school. If they'd made a decision 10 years ago, the project would've been half the cost! Of course, we've had an election since the question was first raised, and the new T.C. invited the comments (straw votes) FROM the COMMUNITY itself -- duh!

If we don't make our voices heard, then we add to the production of KJ's "Governmentium" ! just my 2 cents worth.

Go Jeanne!

Love it Kathyl! Can we ascribe it to your creative writing?? Read it to my hubby and we had a real chuckle. Cheers Bronnie

Nope, sorry. Just passing along another email that came to me. It's a good one though.

I was about to ask that same question - then I "googled" it and came up with several thousand hits. From one site I gathered it originated as a comment on big corporations (was originally labeled as "Administratium" and started back in the early 1990s.).... It's still funny and worth passing along.
