Four days and almost done

Dec 19, 2007 4 Replies

Well, only four sewing days left before I leave for family on Sunday. Oh yes, and I still need to work, and get everything corrected and grades entered and reports printed and everything ready for the first day of classes in January. But I am almost done with all of the small wall quilts that I am making for everyone for Christmas.

Some basic observations.

  1. Some quilts have taken 12 years to finish while one was just started Saturday and is almost finished.

  1. It is much easier to free motion quilt when you remember to drop your feed dogs.

  2. That binding a quilt with 16 outer and 10 inner corners is not a lot of fun. Thank you Patti in Phx for directions. I was mostly successful.

  1. My other half has an unlimited supply of head shakes, heavy sighs, chuckles, hugs, and understanding of my insanity.

  2. That I love this craft and being creative and experimenting.

So, I am back to sewing on the last binding, then beading the center of my poppies, and sewing together my ultra-suede Daffodils, attaching hanging sleeves and labeling them all. Pictures, of course I will be taking pictures, and will have them posted, probably not until after I get back on the 2nd. Oh dear, I feel a surge of panic again. I need to get back to sewing.

Happy holidays to you and yours. Warm wishes, thoughts and hugs.

I'll have to go and have a rest after reading of all that you have to do in the next few days. Wow! It's going to feel marvellous to have done them all - to accomplish what you set out to do. Well done, Steve. . In message , steve writes

Good for you for getting all of this done, Steve! I can't wait to see the photos! :)

Howdy!

Dude! Sounds like a good pile of work you've done. "Finished is the best kind of quilt."

Save some time for yourself and your sweetie. Travel safely. Merry Christmas!
