GRRRRR

I just had to pick out a block because the diagram in the book was wrong!!! GRRRR. If anyone has the book "One Block Wonders Encore!" be warned that the "Hollow Cubes Sliced Open" block diagram is wrong. There is a correction on their website (and it's hard to find) Look here for the correct one:

No fun. There have been a couple other books where I've checked the publisher's site for errata. It might be prudent to check ANY book before you start a project. It might save you some time and/or fabric.

Not on your life, Kathyl. No way I'm going to play with anything that's named Hollow Cubes Sliced Open; thought the diagram was just plain scary. I've been known to go in the wrong direction on a plain old log cabin. Polly

Aw Polly.....they really aren't that hard....if the pattern is correct! I'll have to upload a picture of my design wall. I have a ton of blocks made and haphazardly thrown up there. These geometric blocks are added to the mix just for some extra interest.

Hello KJ,

Thank you for the heads up warning on that book. We all need help in saving time and headaches these days. Unfortunately our lives can be too fast and furious.

May the Lord Bless You and Keep You!

Ah! A hollow cube design was in the 'final' of my 'which design for quilt number 14 for my book'!! I love them; but I couldn't get a decent setting at he time - well, not for 18" square anyway!

You know, sometimes I think Log Cabin is a lot more difficult than it's cracked up to be. I would never allow myself to be interrupted when doing one. If I didn't finish it, chances are I would have gone the wrong way on resuming. I would even leave the phone to the answerphone! . In message , Polly Esther writes

Having made waaayyyy too many log cabin blocks, I discovered after the first couple of logs are added- the next round always gets sewn to the side with two seams. Three of the sides will have one seam along that side and only one will have two seams- that's the correct side to add the next log.
