Happy Australia Day

Thankyou Butterfly! We Aussies sure know how to party!!

Thankfully I no longer have to spend the day in uniform racing from one site to another saluting flags as they are raised lol but I will arrange some suitable celebrations here at home.

Maybe toast and vegemite for brekky (not my normal choice but on Aust Day it's almost a requirement!), followed by meat pies and lamingtons for lunch as the tennis finals continue on TV . . . . . or perhaps a lovely roast leg of lamb with baked veg and gravy for dinner. There is a local concert in the gardens here in the evening, but the fire restrictions will rule out any fireworks. However, I am sure the big displays in the State capitals will make up for that.

Happy Australia Day to all my fellow Aussies for tomorrow!! Please take extra care on the roads over the long weekend.

And of course this long weekend marks the beginning-of-the-end of the long summer school break. Next week most primary and secondary schools will recommence. I can hear the sighs of relief in many households rofl.

I am on duty at the local historical museum, which I rather enjoy doing.
