Joan; I am a former Cornhusker - in fact, don't want to relinquish that title even- though I have been a Hoosier for quite a long time - anyhow, do you do your quilting with just a regular sewing machine or do you have a long-arm quilter? I love what you have done on your quilts. I just really need to know. ;-) TIA Marlys in Indiana

OT: And Happy 3-11 Day to you! If you know someone who is interested, there's a video conference tomorrow on the band's website that is great fun. Check
Yes, that quilt is for Aaron. I know he's going to love it! (Can you tell I'm on a 'quilting high'?)

I do have a Handi-quilter and a Brother 1500, but use that mostly for small wallhangings and utility baby quilts. This one was done on my Pfaff 7530. Nothing special. A size 80 sharp needle. I did have to pay attention to tension (upper and bobbin) when I switched from rayon to metallic to heavier quilting thread. I love the freedom of trying new things. And I do have to remember that in quilting, as well as yoga and Pilates, one needs to remember to breathe. I take frequent breaks from MQ, checking the internet, of course!
joan p.s. Now a Cornhusker, but originally from Louisville Ky and spent several years in Sparta Indiana (near Cincinnati) and New Palestine (near Indianapolis).

Joan, what a beauty that is! (No pun intended, honest!) It's gorgeous -- I love NYB anyway, but yours is exceptional, and I really like the "sampler" of quilting motifs you used. Great job! :)

That is wonderful, Joan. If Pat Winters tries to claim it because she USED to live in NY, just remember some of us STILL do live here!
