What a cute quilt!

Is it from a pattern? if so -- would you share the name?

I love the appliqués... am always on the lookout for cute simple patterns!

OH! Oh, oh, oh. That is precious. Now - share with us. What kind of stitch is that you used to edge the hipperottomus? I need to learn to do that one. Polly

Oh, that's so gorgeous! I love animals and would love it on *my* bed - let alone making it for a baby. Are the appliqués from a piece of fabric? If so, could you please tell me what it was. I am completely and utterly smitten. . In message , TinaR writes

The stitch around the hippo and lion and tiger is a ragged-edge satin stitch I have on my Janome 6600P, which is just perfect for furry little animals.

The animals are actually embroidery patterns, I can't remember from who, that I had and saved as pictures and blew up to be big enough for applique. It's rare that you can use embroidery designs for applique, they are usually too detailed, but these worked as is.

The animals are all fabric, and they are just leftovers from other projects - the only ones that I bought for this was the giraffe and the tiger, and they were FQ's from a local shop, I have no idea who made them.

That's the cutest "jungle" I've seen in a *long* time, Tina! Your new nephew/niece is sure to love it. :)

Tina - that is SO cute. I may use that setting for a babyquilt I'm trying to find time to do before May!

I'm sure if I go thru a bunch of quilting mags I will find enough appliques to fill the centres with.

GOOD job, Tina! I am dancing to the old record The Lion Sleeps Tonight. "In the jungle, the quiet jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight ..... "

Coloring books for kids can also be a good source for appliqués.
