SHONA!!!! Hi!!! Waving wildly from central IL!

I've seen Tina post a couple of times in the past month or so. I'm curious if anyone has Nancycog's number to give her a call? I only have a snail mail addy somewhere, I think...

D> Where's Tina
Thank you Gen and Patti - but I'm still here, sorta - and relatively healthy!
Work has really gotten in the way of my sewing/quilting life and I miss you guys terribly. I do read the NG in the mornings some days, but just don't have the time to post to much.
I am on a sabbatical of sorts now though.... My remaining ovary decided to explode on me about four weeks or so ago. I was in hopes that this latest event would prompt my OB/Gyn to finally agree to a hysterectomy. No such luck, again. He has decided that I should keep the remaining ovary and treat my issues with hormones and medication. Apparently removing the remaining ovary would require me taking too many hormones that would not be healthy for me. So the logic here is...... ????? I'm not sure.
Anyway, thinking I was going to be scheduling a hysterectomy when I went back for my follow-up on June 22 - in earlier June a lady who has come to the church where I work needing some assistance, had come in telling me of her most recent difficult situation. I wasn't in a position to help her financially, the church had already helped her with her rent - I needed some time off to take at least a week of family time with my kids during the summer, pack up the house that we need to move out of and to recover from a hysterectomy I thought I was going to have - so I gave her my job! She has applied to a minority women's program at Smith College and was accepted, now she is just awaiting her slot to open, so she couldn't make a full-time/long term commitment to an employer - so this worked out great for both of us.
It also means that yesterday, being my first Monday off work for quite some time - I got to sleep in (we had to cancel our trip to our lake house because it is currently under a flash flood watch! - we are hoping we will get to go up next week) I finished a really great book and I actually got to catch up on a block that was due....hmmmmm, on Sunday ????? Today I am doing a block that is due this week and hopefully, will get to make a block a day this week to catch up on others!
After some fun time at the lake house with my husband and kiddos, we return to get super busy on painting and completing repairs to the secondary house and hopefully get moved in before the summer is over! Then, believe it or not, we keep shopping for a house outside the inner city area - because we are finally getting out! Yipppeeeeeeee!
I will go back to my job at the church when everyone goes back to school. So I will try to work in as much sewing as I possibly can between now and then!
I have been praying and celebrating with you guys where and when the occassion arises and I keep you all in my hearts daily! Hugging my HUG keeps me connected to you even when I feel disconnected from the "daily" life of this wonderful group of friends.
And if anyone has contact with Butterfly, or Butterfly if you read this for yourself, would you please contact me privately? I will need to get a new/current address for you when you get settled!
Hugs to all and prayers that you are all well, healthy, happy and quilty! Tina
Think she's been working quite a bit, and with school out...and the kids...and her anniversary coming up...well, she might not have the time to relax anymore . Want me to give her a call and check up on her??

And how sweet of you LissaBell to remember our anniversary as well!
It was absolutely AWESOME! I had made a reservation for John and I at a Bed & Breakfast down near the Bay! We spent 24 hours alone, did you get that? ALONE with each other, having uninterrupted conversation, adult beverages, a splendid meal, strolling on the boardwalk, and well.... you know..... all ALONE! It was absolutely magical and the first time since we married three years ago that we got to do something like that!
aaahh, memories, Tina

Yep - DH!!
LOL
My DH has just left for Melbourne. A group of locals are going down to watch the State of Origin. This time last year we saw it at the Birdsville Pub after crossing the Simpson Desert then got rained in at Innaminka for 2.5 days after that.

Nancycog in MD checking in after a long absence. I've had some health problems, but am recovering well, and still quilting. Thanks for all your well wishes. Reading RCTQ when I can, and still laughing at Polly's gator stories. You all really keep my spirits up. Hugs, Nancycog in MD
Well, I will just have to make a second try and see if I won or lost the bet!
Shona, happy to be able to post at last, in NZ
Humphf, Nancy. Gators are no laughing matter and don't you forget it. On the other hand, they do smile a lot. Polly Nan wrote Nancycog in MD checking in after a long absence. I've had some health
