Does your local LQS carry it? I have seen it in lots of the shops here.

Yes, but it is extremely expensive there. I could order it online from several different shops, and even pay freight and it would still be cheaper than my LQS.

There is now more than one type of that polyester plush. They are similar but not identical. You would be wise to touch before you buy to be sure you are happy with it.

Don't forget, Tina, that it comes sixty inches wide so you won't need much yardage. Nancycog in MD

Define "expensive". It is $14US here -

but even with post and dollar exchange that is not expensive compared toAust'n prices.

try fabricdepot.com when they have their monthly 40% off. that is a decent price. I was lucky, I bought some at a shop hop at 6.00 yd (that was my prize, any fabric at 6.00 yd) good luck. Teri

Will definitely check WalMart again - last time I was in there, they didn't carry it.

Thanks! Tina

£8 a metre here - about the same price as a lot of cotton fabric - not top of the range price which is about £10 a metre. So I would count it as a reasonable price here.

Yep, that $13.95 is my definition of expensive. LOL After searching the web last night, I found a few places that had it for $8.95, much more affordable. And I guess, as was also pointed out - my JoAnn's now carries it and if I use my 40% coupon - it might be a manageable price there.

I also didn't realize the thing about it coming in 60" (thanks Nancy) - so I won't be buying as much for a baby blanket. But if you want all the colors they have - will they let you buy like 1/4 yards, I wonder....

Thanks again everyone for you input! Hugs, Tina

they are in Portland and frequently have 30% and 40% off sales. The sales apply to shopping online and in the store. Right now it's 30% but I just got a card that announced a 40% off sale coming up. I'll have to find the card.

I bought a bunch of it for a bathrobe last spring and haven't gotten around to making it yet. But, A local store gets odds and ends and they had some pieces come in. I just finished a baby quilt and put the Minkee on the back. It is SOOO soft. I kept fondling it while I was doing the binding.

All 'minkee' is not created equally. :> Minkee is a trademarked name. Some of the less expensive versions are not as nice. Either way is fine as long as you know what you're getting.
