Howdy!

We had quite a time w/ Friday the 13th weather. Tornadoes swept over Ft.Worth and touched down in several neighborhoods, then headed to DFW Airport and smacked a few other locations as it rushed to Dallas. There was a "rotation cloud" spotted 1 mile east of us, no damage found, a quick thrashing of hard rain, pea-size hail, and then a good soaking rain. The lightning lasted until past midnight. In our little part of Arlington we escaped the worst, again. Other parts of the Metroplex have been pummeled and pounded. We gathered the emergency supplies around the downstairs bathroom, put on shoes, grabbed wallets & purses, and waited. The lights didn't go off this time and I just quilted thru' the evening.

*sigh* Tornado alley is growing wider, tornado season is starting earlier, lasting longer (or never stops). It's unusually cool for us, and I like it! ;-)

We had to go to the airport today to gather up some traveling kin. Watching the folks that had just flown in was a hoot. Immediately, the 99.99% humidity frizzled what may have been nice hairstyles and they quickly became quite 'stunning', and everyone started stripping at the airport door. Fortunately, they had all dressed in a layered look and remained somewhat decent. Yogi loved the show. I guess we should take him to see the Yankees fly in more often and we certainly hope that the bars at the casinos were ready. Those folks needed a drink. Quick. Polly
