my flame war philosophy

I didn't mark this off topic, because right now - um - it isn't! LOL

I think the flame wars, grumbles, spats, and disagreements that go on around here, big and little, serve a real purpose in the big scheme of things.

Think of all the pets, children, spouses, neighbors, and shopkeepers who are not receiving the brunt of our ire while we have this outlet for our frustrations. If they only knew!

And think of all the entertainment we get reading these. Why, we must, because they are some of the longest threads we create.

And think of how it causes us all to stop and think on things - to see if we have any wisdom to add to the thread! LOL

And think of all the good it surfaces when people start writing in how much they love this place, it's like a big family, etc. After a big broohaha, we love each other more than ever!

Yep, I think these things serve a real purpose in the big scheme of things. Yep.

I've been here for many years, I had time to study everyone and I thank you for all what I learned about quilting and living on this ng. Thank you Karen for posting your thoughts about flame wars, I know you are right because we are all different from each other, which is the most interesting fact in the world. Think about all of us having the same way of thinking, how bland that would be. Our differences are what I love about all of you, you are all such a pleasure to read flame wars and everything else. I think we all have a right to our opinions, whether we are angry, sad, happy or sick, you have a right to talk about it in your own way. we all need to vent sometimes in our lives and have someone we trust, get it and understand it. 99.9% of this group do get it, thank you all for being who you are, what an interesting group!!!!!! I love each and everyone of you, you (made my day) many times over, coming here is like therapy. NOW ALL OF YOU PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK for making my life liveable. Hope I don't start a flame war lol. If I had the power to change some of you, I would not think about it for a second, you are all perfect in your own way. Dixie.

When I give to you something I made with my hands I share my heart.

Couldn't agree more Karen. And really, in the big scheme of things - they really are just a minor tangle in the thread of life. Sorry couldn't resist that!

Those of you who know me from my time here awhile back, know that I'm never the first to jump into a flame war, and more commonly will type up a post and then delete it just to get my thoughts out and then won't unleash them on anyone. Karen (hmmm, I went to school with a Karen Tucker) said it best about how we read them and then sometimes post because we think we might have a little wisdom to impart that might make a difference. I wouldn't have gotten involved in the one going on now, except that I felt Larisa was being attacked for something she feels in her heart is what she needs to do. I know there are support groups out there for most, if not all, of my ailments, but I don't read them. The experience I had with the one for infertility when I was trying to have a child was too depressing, the one for RA was the same and too whiny for me. I try not to whine about my health, but it is nice to know that I have friends here who either understand what I'm going through or don't mind me venting every now and then. I've been extremely blessed in my life, but have had my share of trials. I will count the blessing over the trials any day! You are all such a huge part of those blessings!

Tigg (off to shower now...gotta go help make pies tomorrow! I've spent the last 4 days in my p.j.'s (not the same ones, but just haven't bothered actually getting dressed to go anywhere), and now have to be presentable for public view! ;) )

There have been arguments here? 0_0 Where? When? It must have been more subtle than my radar is set to receive.
