New Jersey Quilt Shops

We just moved to NJ about a week ago. Base housing at McGuire AFB in Burlington County. There isn't too much around the area and I'm hoping someone here can tell me where the good quilt shops are in this area. I'm willing to drive 90 minutes or so for a good shop. Will drive 2 hours for a GREAT shop, lol. I used to live in Riverside California, where there were several great quilt shops within 45 minutes, including my all time favorite, The Fabric Patch. I miss that store.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to NJ! I live in Lumberton. There is a cute shop in downtown Mt. Holly, just behind the Robin's Nest Restaurant. The shop is called the Village Quilter. Then there is a great shop in Allentown, NJ. It's a half hour drive, just off exit 7A of the NJ Turnpike. That's The Quilters Barn. I take most of my classes there and they have wonderful fabrics.

We need to know a few things about you first before we divulge any more secrets.

What's your first name - be sure to use it when posting. What kind of QIs do you have? What kind of chocolate do you like? Oh, and how long have you been quilting and what have you made (are there pictures?), what are you making now, what colors do you like/dislike?

Hey welcome from another NJer. I live down near Philly, so any shops around here might be too far for you. That and I don't frequent them really. I buy from online quilt stores. Nothing like the goods coming right to your door!!!

I don't know much about your area, other than I drove by on the way to visit my daughter when she was in college. If you get a map, check out Budding Star Quilts in Lebanon, NJ off Route 22 (great people) and Kindred Quilts in Clinton, NJ off Route 78. These are my favorite shops but I'm in the NW part of NJ. Both shops have websites with directions.

Hi Alice, Where is the Quilter's Barn? I visit my cousin in Monroe Twp. off 7A, how close is the shop?

Bonnie, if you get off 7A, take 195 East for a very short distance to Exit

7, heading toward Allentown (it's about 1 mile). Be careful of the speed, they are very serious about their speed limits! When you get to the stop sign, turn right. The Quilter's Barn is on the right just a short distance. It s a white house with black shutters. Find parking on the street, or if you need to, there is an alley way just before the shop and there are a few parking spaces in the back. If you go over a little bridge, you've gone too far.

They have a web site as well -

if you want to see it. It's a cute shop with lots of different fabrics and really nice people to help you. Tell them Alice sent you!
