New layout.

I think random is very good for these blocks! Just lovely!Beautiful in fact! Very well done!

I vote for random.

I do like this arrangement better. One note: in the lower right quadrant, there seems to be the makings of a blob of blue/aqua.

I agree with everyone else that random looks better! Instead of following the gradient your eyes can wander and enjoy the fabric. Allison

I'll check that out Mary. I resisted doing any moving as I put them up just to see what really random looks like. I may still do a tiny amount of rearranging. But not much as the jury is telling me. This has been fun! What a great critique group!

My design wall doesn't have many problems...except for me flipping things as I sew them. Not the wall's fault!

You are absolutely right Pat. I just grabbed from the stash. For a true gradation to be successful, I should have planned it from the very beginning. Which is rarely how I work! And it probably would have needed new shades and values that aren't in my stash. I think this spontaneous set has a twinkle to it...bright spots and dark spots.

I'll note this with the couple of other suggestions and check them all out with the layout today. Thanks for your input Sally! I do appreciate it!

Thanks so much Estelle. I appreciate you looking!

I'll look at that Pat. I am finding that I like the light and dark areas (as opposed to blocks). It seems to add a bit more depth or dimension. Or I just need another cup of coffee!

I like them both, Kathyl. But if push comes to shove, I think I prefer random.

No pushing or shoving needed! We can do this in an orderly manner. ;-) Thanks for looking. I promise I'll figure out the borders all by myself. I'm a big girl now!

Whatcha' mean you'll figure out the borders all by yourself? I'm kind of starting to look at this as a group quilt at this point - don't take away our fun! :-)

yup, what she said, lol. we all want our two cents considered. even if we are out of cash at the moment, we still wanna see what others think. the quilt top isnt finished til the borders if it needs'em are all decided. :)) you are not a pain in the patootie at all, this is nearly the only fun in my day lately. so keep'em coming. hugz, jeanne

Okay, after I get these sewn together...we can go for round two...or is it round three? Thanks friends!

There could be some serious pushing and shoving around here if you don't let us in on the borders, too! LOL!
