oh bother

my machine is at the menders due to a problem when it's used for quilting, it was supposed to be back today, it's not, I'm supposed to leave for quilt retreat early tomorrow, bother!

I wish I'd not taken it in, it works, it just skips stitches when working on a large quilt sandwich, I should have hung on to it until I knew I had time in case there was a delay.

Bother bother bother

I can't decide what to do, I could fish out my old machine, which works fine, but has the potential to drive me nuts as it just isn't as slick as the new one.

I could hope the machine is ready tomorrow then collect it from the workshop rather than wait until it's back at the store, but this would mean going to retreat late, not getting a ride and my husband having to take me there and still leaves the possibility the machine isn't ready tomorrow!

Arrrghhh

Hi Anne,

If I were in your situation I would dig out my old machine and go have a good time. It might not be as "slick" but it works and you will make your ride, make the retreat and have a great time.

JMHO,

you're probably right and if this wasn't the first time I'd probably totally agree, but this is my first time, I know most of the people going, but the venue is unfamiliar as is the concept of going away for 4 days just to quilt! I'm a little anxious about sharing a room, nervous about unfamiliar beds etc. But I think you're right I need to just go for it! I was mostly planning on foundation piecing anyway, so accurate seams are less of an issue and my old machine really is fine for piecing.

You know, it's been a very tough day today what with making all the funeral arrangements and all, but your message really tickled my heart. My sweet little 3 year old grandson says "oh, bother" all the time and I love it! Sorry to hear about your sewing machine problems and I hope they get resolved real quick, but thanks for the tickle!
