Only partially OT, About making Hugs and supporting friends

Dec 09, 2005 2 Replies

A friend of mine is being treated for a brain tumor. After sucessful surgery, he is now undergoing chemo and radiation. A Support Circle page was set up for him so that his status can be posted and friends and family can send messages. This is the OT portion of this post. A Support Circle can be set up for anyone so check it out at

I copied almost 200 email addresses from people who had posted messages to my friend's support message page. I sent all an email requesting their participation in a Hug for my friend. I have since received a number of photos and text messages which I have transferred to fabric and turned into blocks. A few friends are creating their own blocks which they will send to me. One fellow asked for instructions on how to circulate a piece of fabric among friends so they could write their own messages. I am using any method I can think of to include as many friends and family in this project.

I thought this was a great way to Hug my friend while he undergoes therapy. You can take a look at the blocks as they are made at
