OT Back in the land of the living

Yes, I've survived my week long bout with the flu, and am back among the living. (You know you're sick when you're too sick to fondle fabric!)

Hope I didn't miss much!

I thought you'd been pretty quiet. I hope you're feeling better now. I'm sorry you've had a crummy week. KJ

Bummer.

I think it was a result of too little chocolate and not enough time to play with the new treadle.

You've missed a lot. Would you like a summary including who's in jail, who ought to be and assorted other details? I'm telling. Polly

Yes, please! Do I need to post bail for anyone, or are we holding them in the pokey until they tell us where the stash is?

You're absolutely right! I knew I was starting to feel better yesterday when I finally noticed there wasn't any chocolate in the fridge. I'd been so sick it hadn't occurred to me to look before then. *grin* I made due scarfing up the watermelon DH had brought home, but I may have to get some Scharffen Berger at lunch time. Need to build up my strength again, doncha know. ;-)

When I first started feeling bad last Monday, I assumed it *was* the treadle making me stuffed up. I'd been cleaning it with a mixture of naphtha, vinegar, denatured alcohol and linseed oil. I'm pretty sensitive to solvents, but these are ones that normally don't bother me. I just figured I'd gotten to my limit, and needed to stop for a while. Tuesday morning I got to work and realized I felt much worse, which would not have happened with solvents. I saw the handwriting on the wall and headed back home for bed.

Only the drawers still need cleaning on the woodwork, and then I get to start putting on shellac and paste wax. After that, all the metal gets cleaned. Can't wait to get it all put back together -- not only will it look great, but I'll be able to walk in my sewing room again! LOL

Oooo -- summer flu! What misery! :( Of course, flu is miserable no matter when it hits. I'm glad you're feeling better and are back amongst the living -- take it easy and don't get too tired. :)

Is that all?? ;)

Howdy!

Okay, so you mention being sick and then start talking about drawers needing to be cleaned and.. well, the mind just takes off from there. Hope your drawers are clean enough to go to work and to the Scharffen Berger source and that w/ clean drawers you can walk into your sewing room.

Back to the quilt corner,
