OT: Earthquake!

Checking in--I am OK. Am about 50 miles from the epicenter of the Chino Hills earthquake. They are saying it was a 5.8. No damage, nothing fell. I was sitting at the SM working on my learning curve with the new Fab U Motion.

So glad you're all right. While you're gathering your wits about you, please give us an update on your Dad. Have they figured out what's wrong and how to fix him? . . and what in Sam Hill is a Fab U Motion? Polly

Polly,

Dad had a colonoscopy yesterday. Don't have the results yet. He has his good days and bad days. Internist thought it was probably diverticulitis. I will let you know as soon as I know.

The Fab U Motion is an attachment that fits any machine that assists in making your free motion smoother without the normal strain on the shoulders. It can come with a stitch regulator or without. Mine is without it. Here is a clip about it from the HV website.

Yeppers, it was a roller coaster of an earthquake!

Made everyone nervous at work. We work in abuilding that is on "rollers" to minimize the stress on the building. Of course, the 4th floor keeps moving long after the ground flood stops. Think "bowl of Jello" effect.

Polly, tell us more, please. I haven't heard about it. Is it brand new? Do you like it? Does it really make it less cumbersome to free motion? Does it cost a gazillion $$$? I'm going to have to make a visit to my dealer & check it out!

Pauline,

They have been out for several years now (I think it has been that long) When it first came out, it only came with the stitch regulator and they wanted something ridiculous like $1400. They now have the one w/o the stitch regulator which is cheaper. Moves the fabric around w/o the stress that is usually placed on your neck when free motion quilting. Since I have really back and neck problems, this should be a lot of help.

There's a ton of them for sale on the Sewitsforsale Yahoo group. Most people find they're just not worth the money. Gen
