OT - healthcare/pain and inflammation

Just wanted to let my friends here at RCTQ in on a recent discovery of mine, which all started years ago when I developed a tiny lump on my ankle that I wouldn't have even noticed if it hadn't been right on top of a nerve. Ouch. DH is definitely a traditional guy and when I went to a holistic acupuncture/chiropractor (Klepzig) to see about it, DH was so opposed to the 'quack' that I eventually quit the guy and went to a 'traditional' doctor, who ended up surgically removing the little lump of benign tissue. Well, years later - new lump has grown back in the same place, same pain. sheesh. This time, I ignored DH and went back to Klepzig. He has begun treating me with accupuncture, and occasionally adjusting my neck chiropractically. He also took a hair sample for analysis and a closeup picture of each iris. With the results, he has prescribed several vitamins which he determined would help me, continues weekly accupuncture sessions, and will recheck my hair analysis in May. He says that the majority of his patients are fibro patients (I do not have fibro, by the way) and we talked about that a bit since I know so many quilters with fibro.

So far, I have more energy, less pain, and the promise of more results with time. I need less sleep, but when I do sleep it's solid. My appetite has decreased also, which is because the vitamins he's prescribed are meeting some nutritional needs that I was trying to satisfy with food. (he's also recommended specific foods that will satisfy me better)

As you may know, when you make changes that are natural, the results are far less immediate than a new prescription, I'm thrilled with the results so far and wanted to share my recommendations with you all -

1...go find yourself a holistic doctor 2..start getting regular massage therapy 3...join a health club with a friend and go 3 times a week - I go to Curves 'cause it is both aerobic and muscle building without a whole lot of stress - chit chat is the norm.
