OT - to the prayer warriors

My son went to the ER 2 nights ago - he had a picline delivering around the clock antibiotics on his right arm but by Saturday night the pain was pretty severe at the needle site and there was a red line going up his bicep. Long story short - he had developed several bloodclots in the veins and was admitted to the hospital. He has suffered some unexplained symptoms that are like stroke symptoms, though there is no way for a clot to get from a vein to the brain unless there is a hole or malfunctioning valve in the heart, which there doesn't appear to be after he had an eeg.

He's home now, on cumedin (sp?), and I'm hoping that you will pray for the blood clots to dissolve without complications.

ps - this also delays the in vitro fertilization procedure they were in the process of - so grandbabies are postponed. sigh.

DS is home after only one night in the hospital. No good explanations for the blood clots, but at this point the prayers he needs concern the fact that with cystic fibrosis, he needs to regularly engage in aerobic and therapeutic activity to keep the mucous from hardening in his lungs, yet because of the clots in his veins, he's not supposed to do anything, like aerobics, that might raise his blood pressure and push the clots where they shouldn't go.

He has a small hand held device that he can breath through that creates vibrations in the lungs without affecting the circulatory system, but the more effective therapies he uses are not allowed so I'm asking you to continue to remember him in the next few months, that his lungs remain relatively clear.

Musicmaker, with huge hugs and thanks to all of you.

Just caught up with this topic....prayers and good thoughts on the way. The Coumadin should help. it will "thin" out the blood and hopefully give his body time to absorb the clots.
