OT Wild Fires in Florida

My town is OK, but there are wild fires about 40 minutes away from my town in Central Florida. We have been able to smell the smoke the past 3 days. According to the last news report, the fires are about a mile from the closet housing development, and are in a forest. Barbara in Eustis, FL

Prayers and fire-quenching thoughts are on the way from Arizona, where we understand about wildfires. Bet you will get some replies from OZ and NZ where things are getting pretty tense, too.

Glad you are OK Barbara, hope it stays that way.

We are farther south and so far haven't had any of your smoke. We have had the Georgia smoke and of course the smaller local fires have sent a little our direction.

Seems like we are starting 1998 all over again only with a worse drought. Orlando is two feet below normal rain fall.

Stay safe, will be watching for news from your area.

Hope you get some rain soon to put out those fires. They've been telling us on the news this week that Idaho is in for a bad fire season this year. Early snow melt, predicting a hot summer - I'm not looking forward to it at all - I sure hope they're wrong.

As one who has been through many really bad fire seasons around various locations in Australia, my heart goes out to those who are similarly afflicted. Please be safe and careful this northern summer.

Thanks to all the good thoughts and prayers. The smoke here has just about gone. I can't always get on the ngs to post answers each day. Barbara still in FL
